QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

What exactly in this bill is so partisan that the Senate wouldn't bother to have brought to the floor?

Admittedly I don't know what about it is partisan, and not much, but Democrats couldn't get on board.

Here is a summary and discussion of some of the concerns that doomed the bill. It was not even widely enough supported by Senate Republicans to get consideration.

The GOP led House is uniquely unproductive and unruly. They are currently considering more government shutdown threats to push the ridiculous citizenship baloney. Trump likes that.

Yes, those who are to the extreme left on this issue did not like the bill.

Nope. Schumer was playing politics at the expense of our national security, among other things, and that's why it didn't get consideration.
Can you source some Republicans who were against it?

His advisor mentioned putting them in camps.
Trump has said he would round up 15 to 20 million ILLEGAL immigrants and deport them using the military. Wonder how he was going to do this? Mass deportations is pretty popular with his base. Never mind that there aren't that many ILLEGAL immigrants here. But his advisor is saying 11 million which is probably an accurate figure.
There are so many hurdles it's all just hot air and pandering for votes. But I do believe he would be more aggressive than he was his prior term with deportations. (Biden is on track to match his numbers.)
He's back pedaled a bit and said he would start with one million.
Steven Miller whispers numbers in his ear. Does Steven Miller strike you as a person who is defective? His own family can't stand him. He was asked to leave the congregation by his rabbi. It's safer to believe nothing out of either Trump nor Miller because both of them are so stupid they can't imagine that the citizens know they are lying! Since Trump doesn't read, he only knows what his hand picked staff tells him. Certainly the most injurious and stupid president ever. The separation policy was his evil conjuring. Ever heard anyone from Trump's administration say anything positive about Miller? HE is the true Nazi to even come up such cruelty. Trump was just an obedient dog with this particular bad idea. Even in my far flung area of the North, our agencies had to find housing for these toddlers, an enormous task when we are already so short of foster homes.

No. A true Nazi wanted to kill every jew, gay mentality challenged person or anyone that didn't have blond hair and blue eyes. They wanted to and did kill these kids and had no intention of ever letting anyone in their hate target live. They didn't put these people in "camps" and ensure they had food and basic necessities. Nazis didn't allow some of these people to become legal German citizens if they followed the law and didn't allow any to migrate to Germany either. Nor did Nazi shovel money at Jews in their own countries. The nazi comparison is ridiculous.

Shrugs. You asked a question and I answered.
OK... so Shumer played politics, so? Biden also promised to veto that particular legislation is it was passed unaltered. Then there was bipartisan Senate legislation that Trump... the unelected felon... squashed.
No. I'm not going to source an irrelevant sidebar. The bill died.

I.had a pretty good idea you weren't going to source the "irrelevant sidebar." LOL

I think that businesses which require employees to address issues or problems 24/7 should pay to maintain that level of staffing.

It's not even sane to put the "played politics" label on Shumer (sic). People who live in NYC and DC are probably the most security conscious people in the country since they suffered the most from terrorism.

You asked in your linked post what more needs to be done and Senator Lankford provided a legislative response to that question. That legislation addressed many of the things that need to be done to improve and streamline our broken and burdened system.
The legislation from the House was a strictly partisan effort, there were no good faith discussions or negotiations in the House on their bill, the majority simply passed it on party loyalty.
