The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

If it wasn't for it being mentioned here a few times, I still wouldn't have heard of it.

Me either.

To be fair, it's not widely known.  Whenever I hear of something I don't know about, I'll search for it and usually can find out.  Project 2025 is quite easily found on Google.

Even so, maybe Crusades knows what it is and still thinks it's being used by Democrats as a "buzzword".  It's not.

I sincerely didn't hear it except on here. It's been included with some other repetitive talking points by a memberso I thought it may be democrat.

You should read up on what you plan on voting for.  @Beerman says that he thinks some of it is a good idea, I'm hoping to discuss that with him.

Understandable, but as I posted most organizations, including conservative news sources have talked about it.  It would have been easy to look it up rather be insulting.  Seems to he getting some press lately.  At least before the debates.

Watching the news at the gym just now, the debate is all Fox News talked about for the last hour.  CNN is covering calls for Biden to step aside form Democrats as well. (two screens on)

Biden is toast and he will be dropping out of the race.

You should've seen the White House press conference.  It sure sounds like the press corp has turned on him.

They usually go along with KJP with not too much push back.  Not today.

As a side note... KJP mentioned a few times his cold (he sounds like he always does to me).  She also mentioned a few times he went to a watch party and then Waffle House after the debate and has made campaign appearances since.  It would have been fun if one of them asked if he really should be out meeting crowds with a cold.  And if he's been testing for covid.

When another member has likened me to nazis and being a cult victim, I'm not worried about being insulting. However I was not insulting you. But yeah, I could have looked it up. Has an ominous tone. Project 2025.

I think it's terrible how democrats are turning on Biden. They spent months denying any cognitive decline in Biden. He was their tool to stop Trump.  Now that they cant deny it any longer, they drop him. It's more important to stop Trump at all cost than vote for the person they claimed to be so great. Biden has no value to them anymore.  Nah, they placed him there,  they need to sleep in the bed they made. Something tells me they might be sleeping in several beds they have made for themselves.

There's a stark contrast between Biden and Trump supporters. The balance of loyalty is off. Probably because Trump supporters are in a "cult". I know, I know........

It does seem that the media wants everyone to know that there is talk about Biden dropping out of the race.  It's so odd to me that none of the media cared when people said that Trump should drop out because he's crazy, corrupt, incompetent and tried to overthrow our government.

Biden can not recover from the debate.  It's all the press is interested in both from the right and the left.  It doesn't matter how effective he is from now on, how coherent, how much he gets done, it goes back to the debate.  Which is why he's going to drop out.  Even though you won't hear a word about him being "unfit" or "cognitively impaired" from anyone in the White House.  It's now a matter of saving the party and getting a Democrat in the White House.

I think at this point, it's a matter of "been there and done that" and the Republicans don't care about any of that, so at this point it's barely news.  I will forever scratch my head as to how he got the nomination with all that garbage, never mind be leading the polls with a good chance of becoming President.  People don't care.

Biden proves he can't debate, self destructs and shows all his flaws onstage, and prominent Democrats are saying he's unfit and ask him to step down, and people listen and it's big news.  No backlash against those Democrats for speaking out.

Trump gets a felony conviction and not one prominent Republican politician thinks he should step down from the nomination for President.  The Speaker showed up at his trial in support and said it was a shameful day in America when he got a guilty verdict.

A Republican stands up to Trump and gets booted out of her party and loses her job.  Or in the case of others, they decide not to run in an election they would lose.

Biden deserves the roasting he's getting and the calls for him to step down, but I'm with you that I can't tolerate any negativity about Biden coming from someone that is going to vote for Trump.

Defiance has become as much a part of Joe Biden's psychology as Delaware.

But as the president and his inner circle dig in following his disastrous debate performancelast week, a growing number of Democratic leaders are saying they want him to step aside for the good of the party – and the country.

Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas was the first to break ranks.

"I represent the heart of a congressional district once represented by Lyndon Johnson. Under very different circumstances, he made the painful decision to withdraw. President Biden should do the same,” Doggett said in his statement Tuesday.

"There's a large and increasing group of House Democrats concerned about the president's candidacy, representing a broad swath of the caucus,” another House Democratic lawmaker told CNN on condition of anonymity to speak candidly. "We are deeply concerned about his trajectory and his ability to win. We want to give him space to make a decision [to step aside], but we will be increasingly vocal about our concerns if he doesn't.”

That's because anyone with a legal understanding of the case realizes it's a farce.

And even most of the less informed hear that he paid someone off to keep quiet unflattering information go "so what? " as far as ethics go in politics, much worse things happen.  Heck, just about every piece of legislation is chock full of bribes.  That has much more effect on my life and is way more offensive than Trump's "felonies".
