QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

The writer, Paul Crider, does not work for the Democratic Parry. He's just a random guy with a random opinion. Meanwhile border crossing are at a 4 year low now. But Trump wants to piss off the president of Mexico who is doing a good job of policing HER southern border.
Perhaps the Mexican president should follow suit with Priminister of Canada? Who seems more than willing to work with Trump.
Am I missed something? Is there mass Americans crossing the border into Mexico illegally? Are drugs cultivated and moved into Mexico from the US in mass quantities? How hard is it for her to prevent this? People coming from the south of Mexico are b lining it to the US. There is no comparison. Perhaps she should focus on her country so that her citizens are not willing to risk life and limb including their children trying to leave?
This reporting from the New Yorker about Hegseth seems bad, if true. Trump reportedly does not approve of drinking.

QuoteAmong the staff, the disgust for Pete was pretty high. Most veterans do not think he represents them nor their high standard of excellence.” The e-mail also stated that Hegseth had "a history of alcohol abuse" and had "treated the organization funds like they were a personal expense account—for partying, drinking, and using CVA events as little more than opportunities to 'hook up' with women on the road.”

They just go to the border. It's other countries like Venezuela that do what you describe.
Canada resented being lumped with Mexico as a cause for drug smuggling and illegal immigrants.
Mexico can and should do better. It's not that they aren't doing anything. Their President understands they help to feed us and have American companies there for cheap labor and tarrifs aren't in our best interests. Also her point about Americans demand for fentanyl is a key component of the problem while not helpful is true. As well as the claim that much violence in Mexico (just like our gun violence here) is conducted with illegal guns smuggled from the US.
But anyway, I hear gay marriage is on the rise ahead of Trump taking office.

Where do you cross from Canada to the US without going through a checkpoint?
Canada could pass tougher laws in regards to human smuggling and other activities related to illegal border crossings. You may find this article enlightening. Here is one passage from it related to what I said above:
"He said Ottawa could give law enforcement more tools to counter human smuggling organizations, which he says are often transnational and boldly advertise their services on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok and Telegram.Eamer says Canada's current laws targeting this type of human smuggling focus on the conspiracy part of the action — that there is a clear intent on physically getting someone across the border.
He says the federal government could amend the Criminal Code or the Immigration and Refugee Act to make all aspects of a border run a criminal offence — whether driving, harbouring, or aiding crossings in any way, similar to U.S. laws. "

I was not clear. Canada does not restrict travelers approaching the US checkpoint. US staff screen travelers as they enter the US.
There is electronic surveillance of the border in-between checkpoints. It is up to US border patrol to intercept illegal crossings and the RCMP intercepts people illegally crossing into Canada.
So again, what is the president-elect asking Canada to do? Pass laws about human smuggling ? Patrol the entire border? Build a wall?
There seems to be a surge of illegal immigrants from Canada. Again lumping Canada with Mexico isn't fair but needs to be talked about.
Also the guns..from earlier this year

So, again I'll post an answer and article that addresses your questions.

I was born in Calgary Alberta. Sometimes referred to the "Canadian Texas ". Who's leader says she'll work independently from Ottawa with the US on the border and energy. Alberta is rich in natural gas.

So, you're sticking with that the Harris YouTube channel was hacked and has a manipulated video and fake images?
I wonder why we haven't heard of this anywhere else?
