The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Yes you can interpret it that they way if it makes sense to you, and you might not be wrong, except the economy isn't that bad.  Prices are bad for sure.  But clearly they rejected Dem rhetoric. I'm saying in after polls voters aren't saying that it was Nazi rhetoric that made them vote for Trump.

I will amend myself it to add they voted for him despite guilty verdicts and criminal trials pending, despite not believing in a fair and legal election in 2020, despite doubling down on name calling himself, etc. etc.

So it probably was inflation and issues they thought he could handle better and anger at Biden moreso than Nazi rhetoric.  In my opinion.

Again, I've given my opinion over and over again and this many weeks out I've seen much analysis on the defeat and I'll switch to newer topics and let this one go.

Perhaps the aggressive prosecution was seen as politically motivated and that's how people managed to overcome Trump being a convicted felon?  Or the difference between how the Jan.6 rioters were treated vs the 2020 rioters? His near death experience and how the dems tried to down play his injuries?  Then refuse to consider perhaps their heated rhetoric against Trump could have played a part in that near assassination?  Oh no. Then they would have to face the same precedent they set about incitement?

If you want to pin point and fix the Nazi rhetoric by itself then no, the Nazi rhetoric isn't why he won. However I think there is many facets to his win.

We can drop it.

However inflating that with "H" and the "NZ" is unnecessary and disingenuous. Not to mention the people who died a suffered under that regime.

I heard you then first 50 times.  But harp on it all you want.

The average price of Thanksgiving dinner is down, again, this year.

Thanks, Joe.

"This is a 5% decrease from 2023, which was 4.5% lower than 2022. Two years of declines don't erase dramatic increases that led to a record high cost of $64.06 in 2022. Despite the encouraging momentum, a Thanksgiving meal is still 19% higher than it was in 2019, which highlights the impact inflation has had on food prices – and farmers' costs – since the pandemic."

Please do.  I've never disagreed that his voters rejected the rhetoric and believed the rhetoric from him and his side instead or that it wasn't multi-faceted.   No need to keep going in circles and tell me how bad the Dems are and what a victim of their rhetoric Trump was that was rejected by a majority of voters. I get that voters cared more that Dems had the nerve to go after him and that him being guilty is no big deal.  It get how horrible it was to talk about H and NZ.   I get it all.  I got it the first 50 times you said it.

I saw a can of tomatoes that was $5.00 today.  I wonder if it was a mistake but it was organic and previously $3.00.  I went with the $1.80 can instead.

I can't wait for Trump to live up to his promise and lower prices even more.

Wage growth and falling inflation have consumers feeling a little more confident about spending this year, said Mark Matthews, the trade group's executive director of research.

https://www.nwaonline.com/news/2024/oct/30/average-christmas-shopper-will-spend-record-902/

I'm sure the record spending might be due to inflation, but I have to wonder what the disconnect was with voters feeling more confident and having more money in their pocket and the doom and gloom that made them vote for Trump.  (Yes, I know the rhetoric about H and NZ didn't help).

Anyway, I am looking forward to Trump lowering prices and making the economy better.

By several major metrics, the US economy is on fire, the envy of the rest of the world. But Americans still viewed it unfavorably, and a significant number of voters blame President Joe Biden and Trump's opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, for failing to make enough improvements to Americans' financial situations over the past four years. Poll after poll suggested that Americans hold largely negative views about the US economy.

Record numbers of people traveling this week, partly due to the price of gas going down.

In regards to the price of food, eggs prices are going up, partially due to Avian flu.

I sure hope the incoming administration addresses this. I don't know if this falls under CDC or Ag, but I think it's concerning.

Hopefully we don't have to wait two more months for it to be addressed.

It wasn't my intention to go on about "how bad the dems are" and Trump the "victim". I hardly describe Trump as a victim. More like a survivor of 2 failed assassination attempts. The 1st where his injuries were downplayed by left msm and by members on here. One who would go on repetitively about the samething including NZ references. I guess because this member is no longer active there is a new expectation of not repeating the samething? I'm cool with that.

Thank you Beerman, for posting articles that confirm that Trump used the same terminology like vermin and poisoning the blood,  that Hitler used.
And calling a wanna be autocrat who wishes to centralize control, demonize a minority as the enemy,  and silence any criticism ,  a fascist, is not the same as calling him Hitler.

I wrote this in 2016 and I think it still holds true for the next Trump administration (note the reference to vermin)

                                             "                     Reich Whisperers

Joseph Goebbels to Stephanie Grisham – "If you repeat a lie often enough, and even you will come to believe it.”

Rudolph Hess to Ivanka Trump – "How often has Hitler said to me:  I know that my decision or action is correct.  I cannot explain at the moment why, but I feel that it is right and the future will prove it.”

Heinrich Himmler to Stephen Miller – (during a speech to SS guards)…..”I myself hate this bloody business and I have been moved to the depths of my soul.  But I am obeying the highest law by doing my duty.  Man must defend himself against bedbugs and rats...against vermin.

Martin Bormann to Betsy Devos – "Education is a danger...At best an education which produces useful coolies for us is admissible.  Every education is a future enemy.”

Bernhard Rust (Minister of Education and Science) to Pastor Paula – "Since Martin Luther closed his eyes, nu such son of our people has appeared again...I think the time is past when one may not say the names of Hitler and Luther in the same breath.....”

Hermann Goring  to Trump – "My measures will not be crippled by any bureaucracy.  Here I don't have to worry about justice; my mission is only to destroy and to exterminate; nothing more.’

According to the CDC website, they are monitoring birds, cows, and other mammals, plus cases in humans. They offer guidance on how to prevent spread. But I see nothing about using horse dewormer, or lupus medication as a treatment.
