The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Oh you must have forgot about.....

" MAGA Republicans are a threat to democracy ", "I'd take Trump behind the bleachers and beat the hell out of him". There is the great " put Trump in a bullseye ". Biden calling a member of the press a "stupid son of a b*tch" on a hot mic.

You left out JD Vance calling him America's Hitler; Ted Cruz saying "I think in terms of a commander in chief, we ought to have someone who isn't springing out of bed to tweet in a frantic response to the latest polls. I think the American people is looking for a commander in chief who is stable and steady and a calm hand to keep this country safe" ; Lindsay Graham saying about a  Trump nomination: "would be an utter, complete and total disaster. If you're a xenophobic, race-baiting, religious bigot, you're going to have a hard time being president of the United States, and you're going to do irreparable damage to the party.”

When do you immediately think of garbage is refering to the people who live there?

I know. When the comment was made in reference to a geographical location and either someone thinks that it was refering to the people that live there exposing their own implicit racism, or a shamless opportunist (democrats) using racism to exploit and force a narrative.

Then a "old wise man" "studders" and calls Trump supporters garbage then the left msm does flips trying to cover for the old man. Who was considered "sharp" and completely "competent" right up to the debate with Trump. And now is subtly suggesting his "old man cognition " is to blame. Bahahaha  this is great.

You are trying too hard.  The people are the largest asset of this country.  We the People.

A garbage can is a receptical for garbage.

Trump used that language more than once.

Ya ya. That's what they said last time.......

Vance explained his change of opinion. You probably are not even aware of it or you ignore it. He said that he was fell for the false narrative of Trump and nazis.

Race baiting? Like chosing a replacement candidate that was not elected for the 2024 presidential candidate?  Only chosen based on her ethnicity and gender to ride on the strategy of " if you don't vote for (enter token candidate here) you are a racist misogynist. Or the fav, nazi?  Same strategy since 2008? LOL

All these Republicans can say whatever they want about Trump.. The point was is Trump doesn't go after everyday democrat voters nor do the Republicans use the strategy of defaming half the country and exploit racism since 2008.

Oh and the "race baiting bigot....."was already president and might be again. So Mr Graham can go back to being useless in his state.

The only people who associating "garbage" with the Puerto Rico people was the democrats and left msm. LOL. "Floating ISLAND of garbage" is what the comedian said. Nothing was said about the people.

Woops.

I think you are not aware, or are aware  but caught in your own disingenuous narrative that the island has a sanitation/garbage problem.

Wall Street investors are cheering former President Trump's return to the White House.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose more than 1,300 points soon after the open, or more than 3%, just hours after Trump won the presidential election over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both rose by more than 1.5% each in early morning trading.

Wall Street investors perceive Trump as more favorable to business interests, especially in terms of cutting taxes and regulations.

The comedian might have been talking about their refuse problem, but was his point that Trump was going to help PR out with this issue?  One of his supporters was running for governor (and won).  I don't know the context. Trump distanced himself from the comment so even he didn't get it and claimed he didn't know the comedian.  But water under the bridge at this point.

I do have some contempt for people that have allowed Trump to get the nomination, have encouraged him in his lies, who have alienated certain segments of society.  Trump does not stand alone.  There are many people that are ugly.  Some politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene are ugly deep in their soul.

On the other hand I know that many people, the majority of Americans that voted for him are relatively decent people and I won't hold a grudge.  (Well the one I saw on my social media that said "Yes the witch (with a B) lost just like witches always dod #LOSERS!! !! I'll hold some contempt for). LOL

I respect your opinion Tweety and you know that.

However I think the popular vote and the electoral vote means the majority does not agree with what you wrote.

It's raw right now but if you feel it's worth it, consider perhaps not everything he said was lies? Or investigate why We the People gave our popular vote to the first Republican in 20 yrs. It means something right?

I'm very well aware that people don't agree with me.  I live in Florida and more times than not, every single person and issue I've voted on people haven't agreed with me, this year in particular.  I'm used to being on the losing end.  I can handle it.   As I said all along, I believe in Democracy and the good news, is that I can lose and still have a say and vote.

I agree, it means something.   Presidential results say a lot about a country, their values, their core beliefs.   Obviously the country has shifted to the right.  I understand.

Nonetheless, it doesn't change how I feel about Trump and his voters. I'm not going to change an opinion on what I've said the last few years just because Trump won.

We've lost our exceptional moniker.  We might as well be like every other banana republic which reaps profits for the top 10% and to hell with the rest.  RIGHT is not might unfortunately.

Perhaps because Trump won over the middle class, particularly men, because of the economy, he will try to have a better legacy than that.

LOL. Trump is completely transactional. He will only do what will benefit him personally. He thinks he already has a legacy as the best president ever. Just like his followers.

I disagree that the country has shifted to the right.

I believe most of us are in the middle with a lean to the right or left.

This election was Trump haters vs those repuduating the hard left and their ideas of decriminalizing illegal immigration, over the top wokeness,  identity politics, green mandates, etc.
