Never....NEVER...cut a potato in half and use it as a pessary!
Anybody got anything to add?

Thank you for the support! I am not having a scheduled c-section though, I'm having a scheduled induction. We are going to try for a lady partsl delivery before turning to surgery. Going into the hospital and being given Cervidil and Pitocin. Sounds like fun, eh?
not fun at the time babe, BUT!!!, after it, you really won't remember the sore bits, I've done this three times with nearly nine pounders!,and I'm the world's biggest scardey cat!! swore after each time never again, but it's true what's said, you really will forget how labour is when you hold your wee one!Your'e on a roller coaster journey just now, you know that it will be a new phase of your life come Wednesday.Go with whats right for you, MOBILIZE darling, don't lie down and wait for the bad bits! Don't be scared, imagine your end result, MAKE THAT HUBBY WORK!!! (back rubs etc when you say so!) don't be afraid of what you may say or do, this is YOUR labour and delivery, go with what you feel, (but take every bit of help offered!) Good Luck Babe, will be thinking of you that day, and willing you well, have to work out the time difference between you and Scotland first!

Funny what some human minds can do. This is one interesting thread!!!
Never give your two-year old a bottle of coca-cola & store kerosene in the same bottle within reach of the child.
Never try to perform a do-it-yourself abortion by inserting a poisonous tree branch/herbs into the lady parts or drinking a concoction of Guinness, sugar and broken glasses.
Teenagers??? Never tell the doc you're a virgin whiles he is examining you & wondering why it feels like you are 8cm dilated.
AMAZING HUH?

Oh, gotcha! I wasn't thinking. So many people nowadays are just automatically having C sections, ya know?
My prayers are with ya, in fact if it is ok can I put you on my email prayer list?

Sure, as long as I don't have to give out my personal e-mail that's great with me!
My doc would have scheduled a c-section had the baby been in the 9 pound range, but it's not so she's going to let me "try" to do it the regular way. No one seems to think I'll be able to do it, for some reason.

Oh no, I will just refer to you as Gompers and we will pray for a "speedy delivery" (see "Mr. Rogers"...) - God knows who you are
They always say "try", I think. It's like a dare. LOL - where are the OB nurses when you need one?

You absolutely can do it! Don't let anyone make you doubt that. We had a 12+ lady partsl birth last week, with only a 2nd degree lac. Get as much sleep as you can after the cervidil goes in, you've got a big day coming. Don't let them tie you to the bed, stay as active as you can. Walk, squat, rock, do the birthing ball while you're mobile. If you decide to go with the epidural at some point, make hubby or the nurses help you flip every 20-30 minutes. Left, right, high fowlers with frog legs (feet together, knees way out to the sides and propped on blankets to make it easier on your hips) Use the overbed table to prop the top leg while you're on your side, but make sure there's a couple blankets or a pillow on it. Have it raised so it's at least even with your top shoulder, higher if you can. That's the closest you can come to squatting with the epidural, it opens your pelvis up a lot more than just using a couple blankets or pillows. Hope I'm not overstepping my bounds offering advice, but that's the nursing standard where I work and we really don't have many sections for "failure to progress" Best of luck!
Never spread contaceptive jelly on toast and eat it.
Never get romantic with a frozen hot dog.
Never assume that sticky stuff on the bedrail was snot.
lady partss are not pockets.
Cow tipping might be funny, but it can be dangerous.
Never get romantic with a curling iron.
And this one I learned from my son when he was four. Never try to cut your own hair with a pair of hemostats and then come out of the bathroom with said hemostats hanging from your head and say, "I wasn't cutting my hair, but these scissors don't work."

ROFL. I can so totally see my 2yo doing that in the near future.

Gompers!! Good luck to ya! I'm just SO happy it's you and not me. Mine are all raised.:yelclap:
Being induced on Wednesday due to large baby and rising blood pressure. I'm absolutely terrified - not so much of the delivery, but because in a few days I'm going to be a parent! My husband and I have been in shock since I found out I was pregnant and I don't think it'll actually kick in until we actually HAVE the baby in our arms...Thanks for asking! LOL!
Good luck! I had a scheduled induction with baby #1 (10 lbs, 1oz), due to increased BP. After the birth, everything (physically) returned to normal in short order. After becoming a parent, you are never the same mentally or emotionally, but that's a good thing. If you start to experience PPD, get help right away (been there, done that X2), and don't feel shy about it. Wanting to be a good parent is a good place to start from.
