I quit one job, turned down another job, went through drug testing, physical agility testing, and everything but orientation and they rescinded the offer. I don't know what I am going to do now...

Why did they rescind the offer?
I'm sorry.

Gosh - did they say why? Offer you another job?

this sucks but it happens sometimes...frequently someone who was quitting changes their mind and stays, sometimes they lose funding for that slot
get out there and find something else..maybe a blessing in disquise
good luck

Aw, Mac, I'm so sorry. I know it's hard to see it now but there's a reason for everything. The right job will come along.
They just said it was based on reference checks. We discussed that in the interview and I told them that one might be unfavorable. I think I am going to throw up.
Tomorrow, I will start looking again. I am just devastated right now.

I'm terribly sorry, cotjocky. It was highly unprofessional of them to make an offer prior to checking all references. I wish you the best in your job search!
All applications I've ever filled out requested permission to speak with a reference. You didn't have that choice?
Was that one reference that bad?

Hi, I have a question, if anyone has any info, I was offered a job once I graduate May 2007, as a RN, they offered me the job and I signed a contract because I am getting tuition reimbursment. But I have a Unauthorized use of property on my record that was expunged about a year ago. Do you know if this expungement will show up on my background check. Don't you think they should have ran my SSN before they even offered me the job? Will they rescind my job offer once they see the charges? Thank you
No idea, Pigott. Each facility is different. Some may rescind, some would not.

Most places will now NOT give out unfavorable references but just give out dates of employment. I'm really surprised at this.
