I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL

I've been following the trump trials and associated legal maneuvering (Biden-ghazi, the new Georgia law that might fire Fani Willis, 14th Amendment lawsuit, Congressional Republicans' dog and pony ahow). I've started speculating about an attempt to leave the country. Apparently Great Britain and the EU are blocking entry to Europe. That leaves Russia, whose ruling dictator would be delighted to help out with trump's civil war fantasy, and China, where he has bank accounts. Then there's North Korea, with all those nuclear toys.
Luckily, trump tends to follow the advice of idiots (when he follows any at all). Wonder what Stephen Miller is up to in his spare time ...
Why would source be condemned by anyone so long as it was current?
This almost sounds disingenuous. There's a long-standing pattern of detours into squabbles over the validity of any particular source. Those debates tend to turn into long, boring snarkfests that accomplish nothing at all. One of the reasons I don't post citations much, either.

Not intended to be. In my opinion this is generally directed towards sites perceived as fringe, both left and right biased. Some of these fringe sites that are used are done so, again in my opinion, primarily for the purpose of stirring the pot.

And you aren't alone in not posting citations. Which I find unfortunate; as I've posted before I tend to read all cited sources, from all sides for topics find interesting or am following.

Legal folks saying he has no appeal of this scheduling decision at current time. His lawyer Lauro cut off by Judge Chutkan, ? on the outs as viewed ineffective re trial date.

Some sources are pretty sketchy and unreliable. Honestly, when members here have cited The Epoch Times, I have condemned the source as unacceptable without bothering to open the link. I'm certain that you've seen conservative members ridicule CNN as a source, or MSNBC.

As I noted it's my opinion that most of these are done to stir the pot I agree these are best ignored.

I haven't. @Beerman is the only other conservative that regularly posts here, and I don't think he has; although I'll admit if I miss a day I often don't review all posts since my last visit and might have missed it.

I did cite the Epoch Times once on a rather benign story about Biden making a gaffe. The story was factually correct, but that part was ignored here. What became the topic of discussion was that I used the Epoch Times.
I criticize those CNN, MSNBC and other outlets at times. But with specifics, as opposed to dismissing a story or opinion simply because of the source it appears in.

I agree with you that the new members who behave in the way I describe are just trying to provoke reactions and derail conversations. There aren't any lurking in the threads currently but I expect one of two to show up in the coming months.

You should be able to find a factually correct and important story in media that isn't right wing Chinese propaganda. If it's not in other credible media that's a clue that it isn't correct or it isn't important.

As I explained at the time, I didn't know much about the Epoch Times, good or bad.
And, to this day you and my other critics of that post still havent disputed the facts of that story. I'll make no apologies for posting a factually correct story, no matter the source.
