I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL

Did they recite that oath (no) and do they think that oath somehow makes them federal officials (it doesn't)?
Trump brings out the chaos and the crazy in people's lives. He says that he has no idea who these people are. I imagine that will be part of his defense, that these people are crazy and acting on their own. Someday, Trump will not be any part of their lives but their lives will be forever scarred by their devotion to Trump. What a sad story.

I'm a golfer (or used to be). I placed second in my club championship one year. I read about golf like I read about my other interests, so I'm familiar with the historic talk of Trump's golf prowess. It's not new. Like this,
I posted the golf story because of my ?morbid? fascination with:
1) DJT's narcissism that has him posting about his legendary athletic prowess that is easily refuted
2) his supporters that blindly eat this stuff up
or
3) his supporters that just dismiss it as inconsequential. If he lies about things like his weight or golf score, what else does he lie about? Convos with Putin? Election fraud? Raping women?

Well, perhaps his supporters admire the habitual lying. If he can be rewarded for spewing what ever garbage he thinks makes him #1, then they can too. Being a bigot and bully and a swindler got him to the highest office in the land, so that is behavior to be emulated.

I've commented before that this is the Trump era of conmen, grifters, and charlatans. There are millions of Americans conditioned to accept and believe things without evidence. Their beliefs will cause them to give people money.
I am tempted to post a link to a news story about a trial date set for March 4, but I don't want to set off another series of posts condemning my source.

Chutkan said she would be "watching very carefully for anything which might poison the jury pool."
Lauro said the defense has not started such polling, but given the accelerated schedule for a trial, they may begin to do so, adding that he has never seen a judge restrict such action.
Chutkan replied that she had no intention to restrict anything of the sort but that she would be protective of the District of Columbia's jury pool.
They had better craft the wording and language of their polling very carefully, she'll be watching and she likely doesn't have anything more important on her calendar right now than this trial and it's integrity.

It's possible that Trump could lose control of the nomination. His opponents will be using factual evidence from his Co-Conspirators' trials to campaign against him.
Outside of the GOP political support for his nomination, none of this legal stuff is going the way Trump would prefer.
