I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

It's all marketing.

I told you. Despots don't retire quietly to the seaside.

What a strange post out of nowhere.
Yes, I think anyone watching it could tell that the set built as the "boardroom" likely wasn't a real boardroom. Starting with the receptionist who seemingly had no other job but to tell the contestants they could go in.
Who knows if the actual Trump Company facilities were "shoddy," but if it makes you feel better, I won't dispute it.

It wasn't "out of no where". It was inspired by Trump's less than flattering description of the Kennedy Center.
The people involved in the production of The Apprentice would know about the Trump boardroom. At least one person has spoken or written about it.
We were warned about the expected Trump effect on the economy in 2024. The experts actually didn't anticipate how quickly Trump could adversely affect the economy

Trump hasn't fired the FTC Inspector General yet.
The erasing of science, health and history from GOVERNMENT websites is quite alarming to me. I'm hoping the Internet archive Wayback Machine will continue to exist with computer nerds support.
Jackie Robinson's Army career wiped from military website in DEI purge
Quote
The military story of Jackie Robinson, who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball after serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army, no longer exists on the Defense Department's website as part of the Trump administration's wiping out of diversity, equity and inclusion within the federal government.
Trump ordered the Pentagon to scan federal websites for articles, social media posts, photos, news articles and videos to remove any web pages that "promote diversity, equity and inclusion."
Several websites under Pentagon jurisdiction have removed thousands of pages documenting the history of people of color, LGBTQ people, women and others from marginalized backgrounds and their contributions to the American military. Multiple pages about Robinson were taken down, including a page about Negro League players talking about serving in the military. But as of Wednesday afternoon, at least one page about Robinson, in a series about athletes who served in the military, had been reinstated.
"As Secretary Hegseth has said, DEI is dead at the Defense Department," Pentagon press secretary John Ullyot said Wednesday in a statement. "Discriminatory Equity Ideology is a form of Woke cultural Marxism that has no place in our military. It Divides the force, Erodes unit cohesion and Interferes with the services' core warfighting mission. We are pleased by the rapid compliance across the Department with the directive removing DEI content from all platforms. In the rare cases that content is removed — either deliberately or by mistake — that is out of the clearly outlined scope of the directive, we instruct the components and they correct the content accordingly.”..

Not all of us will survive this and our democratic republic certainly won't.
It's the bloodless revolution that the former leader of the Heritage Foundation talked about months ago. It's been ongoing since 2020.
