I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Lots of the people who were watching Trump most closely are warning that he shouldn't be reelected.
And now Milley says we'll be OK.

Even Republicans found him a bit unhinged especially towards the end.
Yes, America will be okay. The good news is Republicans might be the ones protecting democracy. The Republican senators that were elected this session have already shown they aren't jumping on the Trump train hook line and sinker. Rand Paul for one. Those speaking up against Gaetz for others. To some of them they will be here two years after he's gone and he's already a lame duck president to them. Let's hope they show more courage to stand up to him than the first go around when he spreads lies or wants to do something like "destroy the enemy within". They're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats.
Or better yet he is a mature and successful president, that acts like one. You have noticed he's settled down and started acting like a President.
I've already acknowledged there was a lot of fear based rhetoric that was part of the Democrat campaign. Now they have to dust it off some. One can always count on Fox News to point these things out, don't blame them. Their theme song has been the Dixie Chicks "Not Ready to Play Nice". Defeat is not good enough, the left must be humiliated as much as possible and destroyed. (Dramatic flair)
Delayed, but not dismissed as his team wants.

It reminds me if when our current president said you couldn't shop at 7-11 unless you understood an Indian accent.
We taljed about that gaffe at the time. Kind of hard not to take a dig at Biden isn't it
I was going to make a post but found this unsent. Will include it now. LOL

Figures. He should go read his "White Rage" book again.....

Do you mean White Rage: The Unspoken Truth Of Our Racial Divide , by Carol Anderson?.I've not read it, but I believe it speaks about the backlash against minorities when they gain racial progress. Why do you think this applies to Gen. Milley?
Tweety said:You didn't answer the question. Why should he reread it? Would be helpful to emphasize your point for those of us that haven't read it.
It was a sarcastic remark. Perhaps it might be more understandable if a high ranking military official read and promoted a book called "Black Rage"? A book that allocates negative behavior onto people based on their skin color.

Her campaign paid for the production of the Unite For America event, as it did many events that raised a billion dollars. No celebrities received any money for endorsing her which is the rumor going around that Harris paid Winfrey a million dollars to endorse her. If that event cost a million dollars that is indeed a high price tag, and hopefully if Republicans or law enforcement want to go after fraudulent use of campaign funds, they kept good records.
At least she didn't have to use her funds to pay legal fees. (sarcasm)
