I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

I will say that if we use the Biden/Harris administration as a predictor, 45 amendment will only apply at the end of his term. However the 45th amendment will be pushed by democrats the whole 4 yrs. But they have sure set a precedent for themself haven't they?
Do you think that Trump is such a brilliant person that he can fool and bewitch millions of people? Ever wonder why people vote for Trump?
Oh. So now the contention is that I'm the only person who makes assessments of people based upon what they've said or shared online or in the public eye. You should step back and take a close look at yourself.
I have no idea what point you think you are making with the nonsense about the 45th amendment.
I ask all of the time what brings an American to the place that they will ignore rape, and business fraud, and stealing from charities, and cheating small business owners out of money as he failed over and over again in the business world, to elevate a pathological liar to the presidency. I ask all of the time why those people vote for him again after he lied to them everyday about everything from Hurricanes to foreign policy and then he mismanaged a national public health emergency and politicized that public mitigation which made him the largest source of disinformation in 2020. After he tried to overthrow the election that he lost, people will still vote for him. I say the answer is indoctrination. Those people have been indoctrinated and now some of them have begun to share delusions with the mentally ill man that they are indoctrinated to support. This is what I understand after listening to them try to explain their support. Thanks for asking.

Is a potential Trump 2024 win upsetting for you?
What are you looking forward to if Trump wins? Increased prices when he slaps tariffs on everything? Trade wars with China and Europe? Firing subject matter experts from federal agencies? Repeal of the affordable care act? Neighbors being whisked away to detention camps? Fall of Ukraine, followed by invasion of Poland? Bombing nuclear plants in Iran? Forced prayer in school?

I'm looking forward to what my and my families life was between 2016 and 2020. Take a honest review of your life under Trump and under Biden/Harris.
I voted democrat in 2020, I wasn't happy with the results so why would I once again would I vote for the exact samething?
As far as "neighbors being whisked away in concentration camps", this is one of the most ridiculous idea ever.

Half the country supports Trump.
Democrats have failed to establish trust of half the country. Why do so many Americans trust Trump over the democrat party? Even with all his flaws and trespasses? How can we femocrats gain the trust? I guess it's easier vilifying and insulting half the country than taking accountability and do the work needed to gain trust.

Wow.. A bit far-fetched. Sounds like you the start of a fictional political novel.

That's why Harris support includes so many prominent Republicans and former members of Trump's cabinet.
You're cool with putting a crazy man into the white house so that Vance can have him removed? Vance? That guy with no business being anywhere near the presidency? What is it that makes you think that Vance would be an effective president? Is it his ability to lie so easily?
Too bad half the country disagrees with you. And too bad come November if Trump wins.
The democrat party is so disastrous and full of far left radicals that perhaps all the disqualifying characteristic of Trump are worth getting the democrats out of the WH?
As Beerman said, this reflects on the democrats more that Trump and his supporters.
In November, if Trump's wins the election, it isn't so much Trump was successful, but rather the democrats failed to convince the country that they are the better party. A Trump win is nobody's fault but the democrats

My life during Trump's first term? I developed a great deal of anxiety when Trump was threatening North Korea. His travel ban on people from Muslim countries triggered threats and vandalism toward people in my community. I saw federal workers impacted by Trump's p***ing match when he shut down the government to get his wall paid for. I had demonstrators in front of my office at the local health department, calling me a baby-killer for promoting vaccines, before the pandemic. I waited in line for over an hour to buy fabric to buy masks because they weren't available. I listened to daily reports about how many beds and ventilators were available at the hospital. I saw people argue over who got priority for vaccines. I saw kids demonstrating for Black Lives Matter get harassed and shouted down by yahoos in noisy lifted trucks with guns on display. And yes, community members were removed to a detention facility 100 miles, including US citizens and green card holders. They were held for 1-2 weeks until they could get a hearing and released, leaving their families without income.
Please note, I did not say concentration camp, that is your term.
So, can you specifically say what Trump will do to make your life better?

Trump's presidency was marked by chaos, corruption and crazy lying about everything from inaugural crowd sizes to pandemics. It is notable for Trump exploding the debt and deficit and shutting down the government over pretty political arguments. Trump's presidency weakened Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian aggression and took Putin's side in a matter of national security.

What you call ridiculous is simply you trying to diminish the truth because the truth makes you uncomfortable. Either that or you think that immigrants don't have family and neighbors who would be left behind when they are sent to the camp to await deportation. What is ridiculous is pretending that Trump didn't say these things.

It's just things that Trump has actually mentioned doing in his campaign appearances.

Yep, too bad.
You ignore all of the warnings that Trump should be no where near the presidency again, from all manner of people who served closely with him during his presidency, because it will be upsetting to the people who oppose Trump? You ignore the national security experts and DOD experts who worked directly with Trump because you like the way Trump annoys people who would defend our ideals and values and laws from his reckless pursuit of power?
The democrats are so disastrous and far left that scores of Republicans have endorsed Harris. They are so disastrous that the Dow is up, wages are up, employment is up, inflation is down, and oil production is at all time highs.
And if Trump loses, whose fault will that be? Let's be clear about the reality that lots and lots of republican voices will refuse to accept a Trump loss as legitimate. Congressional Republicans will make noise. Trump will make noise. They will try every trick to install Trump. That ground work is getting set right now.

Are you talking about polling numbers with this "Half of the country" language?
Indoctrination is why people believe things that aren't true.
Funny that you mention vilification and insulting others as a strategy when you support the politician who must often uses vilification and insults in their political remarks. Funny and profoundly hypocritical.

"Wall Street" is not known for its collective discernment. The likes of Enron, WorldCom and Theranos were the bees knees ... until they weren't.
The gyrations of DJT Media stock is starting to smell a lot like money laundering, bribery or even disguised campaign contributions.
