I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Throughout the document, Smith argues that the actions Trump took to overturn the election were in his private capacity, as a candidate, rather than in his official capacity, as president. Many facts previously unknown revealed beyond Congressional Hearings. Off to read details.

That's funny. After all of this time you still don't know that Trump didn't participate in a peaceful transfer of power and you think that government should make decisions for women.
You're still stuck on square one.
Trump coming back to rally in Butler, PA Saturday --cooler fall weather .

Butler, Pa., grapples with the assassination attempt on Donald Trump ahead of his return The question is: Is Butler ready?
Quote
...In announcing his return, the former president and current Republican nominee said he planned to "celebrate a unifying vision for America's future in an event like the world has never seen before.”...
Police and emergency officials have faced questions from investigators looking into the shootings from the state police, FBI and Congress. The county government has fielded some 300 open records requests, five times what it normally gets in a year. Many are bracing for litigation that could extend for years.
"I'm not going to lie — it's a burden on all of us,” said Butler Emergency Services Director Steve Bicehouse. "It wears on you. And it's been a trying time the last several months.”...
County Commissioner Kevin Boozel, the only Democrat holding countywide elected office in Butler, said what happened two months ago has some concerned about Saturday's rally. The previous security failure is the major issue, but authorities at the July event also contended with extreme heat and humidity that kept emergency responders busy treating people in distress even before the shooting. ...
Meanwhile, the Butler Historical Society has put on hold until Spring, at least, its plans to collect local residents' stories about the shooting. The organization is looking into how it would keep the stories sealed for 75 years, as had been the plan.
...Geyer said she expects Butlerites will find more ways to pay tribute to the victims.
"It was a tragic day and nobody wishes it happened or occurred in their county,” Geyer said. "I believe that the people who live and work here are resilient people. We're going to move forward.”

Doesn't seem like someone who is experiencing "PTSD". Going back to the place where you were almost shot in the head. As some have speculated.
QuoteIn an interview on July 19, 2020, when asked repeatedly if he would accept the results
of the election, the defendant said he would "have to see" and "it depends.”5
On July 30, despite having voted by mail himself earlier that year, the defendant
suggested that widespread mail-in voting provided cause for delaying the election,
tweeting, "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020
will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a
great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely
and safely vote??”6
In an interview on August 2, the defendant claimed, without any basis, that “[t]here is
no way you can go through a mail-in vote without massive cheating.”7
At a campaign event in Wisconsin on August 17, the defendant told his supporters,
“[t]he only way we're going to lose this election is if the election is rigged, remember
that. It's the only way we're going to lose this election, so we have to be very careful.”8
In his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on August 24, the
defendant said that “[t]he only way they can take this election away from us is if this is
a rigged election.”9
On October 27, during remarks regarding his campaign, the defendant said, "t would
be very, very proper and very nice if a winner were declared on November 3rd, instead
of counting ballots for two weeks, which is totally inappropriate, and I don't believe
that that's by our laws. I don't believe that. So we'll see what happens.”10 The
defendant said this despite—or perhaps because—his private advisors had informed
him that it was unlikely that the winner of the election would be declared on
November 3.
That's from page 6 of the Smith filing that Trump labels as election interference.
It's interesting to note that Trump is playing the same song again this election cycle. He's already taking about fraud and blaming his potential loss on Jews. What comes next?
QuoteThe special counsel claimed Trump "was on notice that there was no evidence of widespread election fraud in Arizona within a week of the election" and claimed Trump also "had early notice that his claims of election fraud in Georgia were false."
By the time Trump spoke at his rally on Jan. 6, after Pence had refused to stop the certification of the election, Smith said the former president knew his "last hope" to overturn the results was "the large and angry crowd standing in front of him."
"So for more than an hour, the defendant delivered a speech designed to inflame his supports and motivate them to march to the Capitol. The defendant told the crowd many of the same lies he had been telling for months—privately and publicly, including to the officials in the targeted states—and that he knew were not true."
There's so much to talk about in this filing.

Has the New York Times finally put an end to the sane-washing of Dementia J. Trump?
QuoteFormer President Donald J. Trump vividly recounted how the audience at his climactic debate with Vice President Kamala Harris was on his side. Except that there was no audience. The debate was held in an empty hall. No one "went crazy,” as Mr. Trump put it, because no one was there.
Anyone can misremember, of course. But the debate had been just a week earlier and a fairly memorable moment. And it was hardly the only time Mr. Trump has seemed confused, forgetful, incoherent or disconnected from reality lately. In fact, it happens so often these days that it no longer even generates much attention.
He rambles, he repeats himself, he roams from thought to thought — some of them hard to understand, some of them unfinished, some of them factually fantastical. He voices outlandish claims that seem to be made up out of whole cloth. He digresses into bizarre tangents about golf, about sharks, about his own "beautiful" body. He relishes "a great day in Louisiana" after spending the day in Georgia. He expresses fear that North Korea is "trying to kill me"when he presumably means Iran. As late as last month, Mr. Trump was still speaking as if he were running against President Biden, five weeks after his withdrawal from the race.
