I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Some are trying to minimize it you say? Oh no. Am I minimizing that tiny injury (that now is apparently fully healed)
LOL at how it's funny to minimize his injury while moving right along and minimizing it. LOL.
You have planted seeds of doubt that resembles low key conspiracy theory type talking points. Which surprises me, actually not really but you seem to present yourself as a superior political analyst that only considers facts and evidence.
Yet you doubt the injury, criticize the dressing and subley suggest he was not hit by a bullet but most likely by "some type of glass" even with a medical repot (rejected because you do not like the fully licensed MD's politics), and ignore the FBI report.
Doesn't fall in line with evidence and facts only now does it?
Secret Service sniper team never performed pre-rally briefing as planned with Butler County snipers; breakdown in communication discussed in ABC News interview
ABC News 7/28/24
In their first public comments since the assassination attempt, the Beaver County SWAT team on the ground that day and their supervisors spoke exclusively with ABC News Senior Investigative Correspondent Aaron Katersky.
QuoteAt 4:26 p.m. -- nearly two hours before the shooting began -- a sniper leaving the area where local SWAT members assembled saw Crooks "sitting to the direct right on a picnic table about 50 yards from the exit," the text message said. The obtained text messages were shared among snipers in the American Glass Research (AGR) building area, which was being used as a staging area for local police, who were inside the structure.
"We were supposed to get a face-to-face briefing with the Secret Service members whenever they arrived, and that never happened," said Jason Woods, lead sharpshooter on the SWAT team in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
"So I think that was probably a pivotal point, where I started thinking things were wrong because it never happened," Woods said. "We had no communication."...
The sniper who alerted others that Crooks was lurking in the area noted Crooks was likely aware of the snipers' position, writing, "because you see me go out with my rifle and put it in my car, so he knows you guys are up there."
Less than an hour later, as ABC News previously reported, a member of that same sniper team identified Crooks as suspicious -- and shortly after that, called it into local command, warning of the suspicious presence....
Beaver County Chief Detective Patrick Young, who runs the Emergency Services Unit and SWAT team, said collaboration is key when lives are on the line.
"I believe our team did everything humanly possible that day," Young said. "We talk a lot on SWAT that we as individuals mean nothing until we come together as a team."

I am still wondering who runs the show for Trump's security detail. I bet Trump exerts a great deal of pressure on the SS to do what he wants. We watched and heard of that pressure before. That makes it very possible that Trump was the person who decided that he was going on stage in spite of an identified threat. We'll likely never know.

Yes. It's funny that you are so triggered by it.
I planted seeds of doubt? Thanks for the credit but I'm just pointing out the ongoing deviations from what is considered normal or precedent by Team Trump and the real questions that are generated when a liar claims something that doesn't seem to be supported by the evidence. It may be common for that campaign and candidate to lie and spread propaganda but it's not normal.
I haven't deviated from any facts or rejected anything. You, however, seem unaware that Ronnie Jackson doesn't have an active license to practice medicine other than in a military facility and he was demoted from rear admiral to captain because of his bad judgment and behavior on the job. I didn't ignore the FBI report, I addressed it in my comment.
Holy hell, your grievances about these discussions seem disconnected from reality. You are spinning and your remarks read as though you are agitated. Maybe you need a break to regain your perspective.
We should just talk about Trump and not each other in this thread because the latter doesn't seem to be going well for you.

I said you TRIED to plant the seeds of doubt while pretending you are so above believing in conspiracy theories.
What do you call someone who questioned something so obvious that can be reviewed on video and has been confirmed by the FBI?
Holly hell! Do I have a mental illness? Perhaps you an diagnosed me so I can get the help I need?
I'm wondering if there's been any symptoms of these in these threads?

Trump exhibits each of the traits you listed.

They are weird and the VP candidate is not really qualified to take the presidency should the crazy old guy be unable to carry out the duties. It's an uninspiring ticket unless one is fond of lies and crazy narcissists.

Even if the one wasn't a narcissist, the fixation on Hannibal Lector and sharks is weird.
So I was looking at Trump's Truth Social account and one of the things he said was (in all caps) "OPEC NATIONS ARE GOING ALL OUT TO DRIVE DOWN OIL PRICES IN THE HOPE THAT CRAZY KAMALA HARRIS WILL WIN. THEN THEY WILL REALLY REAP THE REWARDS. SHE WILL BE A DISASTER FOR THE USA"
I'm scratching my head this one since isn't her administration suppose to be the enemy of big oil? Didn't oil production rise in the US?
And didn't OPEC announce a rise in production back in April?
Trump is upset that gas prices are low and is trying to frame it in a an anti-Harris way. I can't read the over one thousand comments to see if people are buying into that because I'm not a member.

On a side note here's a picture someone post that he "ReTruthed". I just can't......

He's a crazy liar and propagandist.
It's a cult.

We do all agree that it was horrific. We do all agree that the SS failed in their mission that day. I still want to know who made the call to let Trump on the stage when they knew there was a potential threat in the area.
