The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Do you disagree that the appointment of Jack Smith was unconstitutional?

Yes. Multiple courts have found the appointment of special prosecutors to be constitutional . If you think Jack Smith was illegally appointed, what do you think about Hur and Durham?

Judge Cannon dismisses classified documents case against Trump  over procedural grounds regarding appointment of  AG Special Counsel.

Expect this to be appealed. Trump must be carrying a lucky rabbits foot in his suit pocket.

Who needs a lucky rabbit's foot when you have Clarence Thomas.

Trump cinched RNC nomination as President, he selected J.D Vance as VP.

As it should be.

Strange. It's truly abhorrent to say something like these people have but I do not feel they should lose their job.

Free speech is free speech and if not representing their employer, I don't think they should get fired.

Nvm just realized it was a congressman

Guess I'm weird?

Why shouldn't they lose their jobs?

In 2016, JD Vance was very critical of Trump. What changed or was promised to nominate him as VP?   In his own words:

In first interview as VP candidate, JD Vance explains why he called Trump 'America's Hitler'

55 Things to Know About J.D. Vance, Trump's VP Pick

Donald Trump's pick for vice president made a 180-degree turn from fierce critic to bulldog surrogate for the former president.

Nicolle Wallace: 'JD Vance's extremism is what won him the spot for Trump's number 2'

My biggest concern from the ABC News This Week Feb 24, 2024 interview In watched:

JD Vance says he's wouldn't have certified 2020 race until states submitted pro-Trump electors

The senator also suggested Trump should ignore "illegitimate" court rulings.

Quote

"If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia and so many others, that we needed to have multiple slates of electors and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there," he continued. "That is the legitimate way to deal with an election that a lot of folks, including me, think had a lot of problems in 2020. I think that's what we should have done."

Therefore, negating my 2020 PA Presidential Vote from "fake elector".  Only reason PA didn't indict false electors was wording they used

"Pennsylvania's certificate said the votes they were casting should only be counted if a court found that they were the "duly elected and qualified Electors.”

Keynote speaker for the RNC is Tom Homan, principal author of Project 2025. But Trump knows nothing about P2025.

And JD Vance wants to enforce the Comstock Act and prevent people from obtaining pregnancy related medications via mail.

I saw pictures of RNC attendees with 2x2 bandages covering their right ears, similar to trump's. And yet, the public still doesn't know details about his injury, treatment, etc. The press was all over the White House about which doctor visited when, but all we know about Trump is the obvious square of gauze on his ear.

I saw a comment about the followers who refused to mask to protect fellow citizens are proud to sport a stay-free minipad on the side of their head, LOL.

I watched the acceptance speech. It was basically the same thing he says at his rallies, including Hannibal Lector, plus a description of being injured last Saturday. Yawn.

And WTH is with that ear diaper?
