The 27th is coming fast and I am SCARED!!!

Published

I am so scared and nervous! I get sick just thinking about it! I have been studying doing saunders, Lippincott, Kaplan and some others. I am nervous because on the Kaplan I have been getting 64%, 53%, 61%, 60% and my test is on the 27th which is in 2 days!!!! What should I do???? I have been an LPN for 2 years and took the NCLEX-PN, but I know that the PN is somewhat different and more difficult then the RN. Any advice???? I am freakin!!!!

I'm on the 27th here in DC, was an LPN/LVN for 15 years. I am getting more anxious also. I keep reminding myself not to answer as an LPN/LVN, but as a graduate and I'll be fine.

You got this is!

Hi guys! I know what you mean about freaking out. I'm taking it July 1-6 days away!!! I've been doing Lippincott, Saunders, Mosby also-I think we should just keep doing our practice questions and try to remain calm! Easier said than done-butterflies have settled into my stomach already about 3 days ago and it feels like they're here to stay! :(

Well, I feel somewhat better. I just finished another Kaplan test and got a 72%......and half the questions I was just guessing. I am to the point that if I fail.....then I fail.....not the end of the world.....I won't die.....and I won't be the only person that has failed. HOWEVER, it would be GREAT if I passed! :)

To all of you:

Good luck.

Trust your first guess. Never second guess yourself unless you believe your first thought processes were wrong (e.g. misread the question). Your first answer is statistically something like twice as likely to be the right one.

Relax. Don't study for 36 hrs before the test. It won't help and will work up your anxiety level to the point that it hurts.

Be positive. You can do this. repeat that.

Don't freak during the test that you aren't answering enough of the questions correctly. It's a 'stump the chump' test and you're the chump. The test gets more and more difficult until it finds that level where you are at your limits. It not only expects you to get answers wrong, it will get more difficult until you do. The goal is to find the balance between the level where you are more right than not and the level where you are more wrong than not. That being the case, you ARE going to miss alot of questions. So don't let the anxiety of missing question affect future questions. DON'T FREAK, just keep going and keep your confidence high.

Calm down, fight or flight responses don't suit you well when you can't do either.

Finally, after it's over, put it behind you. Don't lower expectations - don't tell everybody that you know that you failed. Don't freak. Go have a drink, or finally, read something fun! Relax, I'm sure you'll do fine.

i'm taking my test tomorrow also...and i'm soooo nervous. i did two reviews and have been using Saunders review. I did about 2000 questions, and i'm still nervous..i just feel like its not possible to know everything. Everytime i do another set of questions i learn a few more things...does anyone feel like this...and have you passed even though you feel this way? :crying2:

Just wanted to say good luck to those of you who test tomorrow.

Like it was previously posted, relax. Dont study today, it will make your anxiety even worse. Get a good nights sleep, eat a good breakfast in the am.

I wish you all the best!

I am getting the nervous feeling since I schedule my test date.

Remember to relax at least 2 days before test. I plan to go to the park.

i was a lpn for over 10 years...i took the lpn to rn last year...and i took my stste boards last week...i also had to really stop myself and seperate what i was so use to doing and think as a rn for this test....i did...the delegation is theyre path to see if you can seperate that part and prioritization thats how they can tell if you can except this new role...if at all possible ractice some questions in this area...it helps. its sort of late for that advice...i see your testing today.............

so then here's to good luck...........we will be thinking of you....if i could do it you can to......stay strong and believe in yourself............thressa
