The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Which is a relatively good thing --- sometimes they end up like a really wacked group of bumper cars at the Fun Zone with everyone all facing in different directions and yelling and trying to back up and------ bang! I could swear that car wasn't here a second ago  and by the way --- so's your mama! I'll just rev this thing again and go the other way . .hey you get outta my way!! etc. ---- sometimes they end with a single hand pulling a chain to switch off the single light bulb, a few steps and a softly closed door --- I'm feeling really metaphoric today! :p

nursel56 - Yo Mama so fat even Richard Simmons can't help but laugh!

Now Mama_d,

at least if isn't one of the Davy Jones songs they've been playing nonstop around here. I went the whole night shift with "homecoming queen" wailing though my head.

You're just "daydreamin"

She's a nursing assistant. SHE DOESN'T HAVE A FRIGGING NURSING LICENSE TO LOSE!!!

Sheesh. Don't reporters do even a modicum of research? Whatever happened to research?

When I read that she had to write a 1000 word apology/essay, the first thing I thought was "I wonder if she's going to write it in text-speak or locats?"

Unless there's an emergency, or you're sick, you shouldn't be able to cancel a shift with no notice, yet this seems to be the way it works for our casuals. We had one nurse last year who kept canceling her shifts....for a whole month. We were screwed, because then we were expected to work. Very annoying!

Nursing, at least when I was stating out, was a calling. separate then working a drug store. or beauty Shop or anything else. If you were schedule you went in. Mother sick you went in, My father dying I had to go in. When did it become "I don't think that I can give proper care to my patients, I'm calling out. I think the archaic word was dedication. Still feel that way

Charming, truly. May she rot in hell.

On another note, to add to the confusion the general public has about nursing, this was a nurse's aide (excuse me, assistant) that the article goes on to say had her "nursing license" revoked. A certificate cannot be revoked, there is no license for a cna, and this woman wasn't a nurse.

Any wonder why our patients get confused?

I posted before reading yours :)

And I wonder if she has to have that essay graded, will she have to re-write it if she gets less than an "A"?

I just went through the annoyance of registering for that publication's website, so that I could post in the Comments section below the article.

I invite you all to read what "ActualRN" had to say ;)

My guess is she would peak at a C- for her best effort.
