Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:
1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?
2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?
3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.
Not much left to add. Says it all.
I try to stay out of the m*** stuff (I usually leave that to my Mom) but I have snickered and giggled myself into some very fine stomach cramps this morning while reading this thread. Imho, I had the finest LPN instructors on the planet, and they would have had us on code brown for a week had we dared complain about our uniform making us look fat. Heck, they even told us what undies to wear with our sexy (sarcasm) white scrubs, and all we did was ask the cheapest place to buy them.:bowingpur
HAHAHAHAHA!!! This thread cracks me up!!!!!:rotfl:
Hey here another knee slapper fer ya....
When is the public, management, hospital CEO, doctors, patients, patients families, patients neighbors second cousins, etc. etc. etc. going to see me as a PROFESSIONAL?
I have been "in the trenches" since 1908! I have walked a mile in my own shoes! I use words such as ostentatiously, loquacious and pedantic...not because anyone actually uses those words on a regular basis in daily conversation..but because it makes me look SMART! And I AM smart...you know why?...because I'm a nurse, silly!! Didn't you know that after 20+ years of nursing you know everything about EVERYTHING??? Well ya do! So why doesn't anyone see me as a PROFESSIONAL??
Sure I spend my free time on public, online forums making fun of the newbie nurses. My wisecracks about the pretty, young girls in designer scrubs are priceless! And I'll tell ya, you just have not lived until you belittle someone for asking a "dumb" question!! Hey it's just all in good fun, it's just the way I "vent" after a long, hard day "in the trenches". So why am I not considered a PROFESSIONAL??
Oh yeah, one more thing..."DDRREEAAAMMMMMM".....I'm not really sure why I added that in, but all my other older cohorts are using it in all of their posts so I figured I would too!! heehee!!
Should I wear makeup if I am working with sexual predators? They find me cute because I am little and attractive...really, I did NOT just read that! No girl, make yourself as ugly as possible, maybe like the old coots that work on the floor...you do know that sexual predators only like the cute ones! >
I swear that there are NO sources about the heart and about vasculature and about the brain and about stroke and about MI and about rtpa and about heparin and about the use or contraindications possible related to these drugs for the aforementioned medical emergent situations. I become irritated quickly if post responders do not give me an answer to my questions that I can copy and paste.
I will actually PM you (just got one in my PM box this morning) to tell you not to post in response to my questions posted on these subjects because clearly you only intend to lead me to find my own answers and do not intend to spoon feed me every single answer to my ACLS related questions for this thing that I intend to become certified for and then by certification state to all that I am able to help save a life.
I just registered for this site, and this is one of the first threads that I have read. It is quite entertaining, despite being steeped in broad generalizations about both "new" (per this thread, interpreted as “stupid”) and "experienced" (per this thread, interpreted as “mean and old”) nurses. The sense of community is underwhelming, but the quality of humor is above par. I am waiting for both sides to square off for a battle royale. “Nursarmageddon 2012” would certainly pull in the Pay-Per-View consumers. Which side do I join? I am able to spell and read, I do not have a DWI, I am a hopeful new nursing student pursuing a second career, with a reasonable degree of life experience, but will be an “old new” nurse upon graduation. Perhaps I should just referee?

I would barf if I ever had to wipe someone's butt, but the CNAs always take care of that, right? I'm not worried since RN's never have to do that...
