The Mockery of Nursing

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

I failed by only .1 pts because they say you have to have a 75 to pass and don't they know that nursing is my dream and it's not fair because the test had questions that weren't on the powerpoints they gave us! How are we suppoed to know things if the teacher doesn't put it on the powerpoints. Especially when they won't even give us the powerpoints until AFTER class! It would be so much easier if they gave us the powerpoint before class. So should I go to the dean of the nursing school or straight to the dean of the whole school because this is so unfair.

Please help me find a nursing school in western [insert state here] as I apparently have never heard of google.

I didn't pass the TEAS by .3 percent and they made come all the way down here to RETAKE it with a PENCIL! They shoulda just let me in. WAHHH!

i clicked on this thread because the title sounded interesting. what a disapointment. instead of a thread discussing the 'mockery of nursing' it is a thread aimed at humilitating fellow an members. and to think there are moderators on here participating. unbelievable.

really, you're no better than a bunch of kids sitting in a cafeteria pointing and laughing while making fun of the kids who aren't cool like you.

to those commenting that this is 'the best thread ever', and 'i'm laughing so hard i have pop coming out my nose' grow up.... this thread has been done before. it wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now, this thread is mean, unprofessional and very immature.

what's most disapointing is that there are members commenting on this thread whose opinions i usually respect.

if this thread offends you so much, don't post on it.

If I post a picture on Facebook where I am straddling my hot male patient, is that bad? My boss said it's some HIPPO violation or something.

Answer = it all depends on just how big the nurse's backside is to determine if this is actually a HIPPO violation. :lol2:

Do I have to go to work in the snow? I've been meaning to ask that. I know I took a job miles and miles and miles away from home and i know it snows feet upon feet of snow here every year - but, well....now it really is snowing and I don't know what to do.

(by the way...I really am the biggest chicken when it comes to driving in the snow. This is why I have a job close to home AND I've learned I just have to suck it up sometimes. Go figure).

LOL. A Nurse at work said that all Nursing school students should have to be an aide for a month... I am sure that it would change a lot of minds.

Mooohoohahaha, this brought back a fave memory from clinicals. An RN program did clinicals on the same floor as our LPN program (different school). I'm NOT hatin here, but a lot of the girls in that RN program had the snotty attitudes that have been discussed on this thread. They would literally come in and sit at the desk and put on make-up on clinical mornings. Well, our instructors warned us, not that we needed it, about how our lives would be in mortal danger if we ever dared pull some mess like that. Just the whole attitude they had going on. So one day, one of the Rn students had a patient with diarrhea, and she actually tried to order a couple of our LPN students to clean it up. She said nobody had ever made her touch somethin all grody like that, and since she was going to be an RN she wouldn't ever really have to, and she had some important paperwork she needed to work on, so if we would just get that for her she'd really appreciate it. :lol2: And then our instructor walked up and the Apocalypse began.
