Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:
1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?
2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?
3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.
Not much left to add. Says it all.
I know...I passed the NCLEX-PN first try, in 85 questions and apparently in 30 minutes. I didn't see any point in over thinking questions. My only regret is that I didn't go to nursing school sooner. Now I have a job that I actually love, have no problem getting up at the crack of dawn to be on time for (even early) and according to my patient's mom & my supervisor I'm pretty good at....but I know I always have something to learn and/or improve at.What do I know, I'm only an LPN who passed on her first try.Notice even an LPN know it's passed and not past.
But 'U R all mean for discouraging the dddrrreeeaaammmsss " of the special snowflakes who want a gold star for earning the bare minimum grade of 75%
Believe it or not I was told to protest by several classmates when Ilost 20 points for one clinical day because although I left early I arrived 10 minutes late after my car met its untimely demise on the highway & I had to call for a tow and my mom to come give me a ride. Apparently the fact that I agreed that it was my responsibility to have reliable transportation and arrive on time was a foreign concept.
You forgot "and I need to know the vacation policies of all the CA hospitals, as I like to travel alot"
Don't forget the "how much will I be paid" and "how long before I can move my DREEEAAM job in L&D/ICU/NICU/whatever" because only REAALLL nurses work in that areas. NO ONE really like Rehab/Sub Acute Care/Geriatrics/Whatever because those areas are booooorrring!

Oh yeah "I need to GET MY YEAR IN" as if there's some kind of contract that once you have a year you should be all prepped up and ready for a long term career in an ICU (on days, of course - and no weekends.)
Can I just say how much I love you people? Now, when I go to search for something on here, my computer is remembering things like "ran into a house," "stoma sex," and "NCLEX horror." I never knew nursing is so amazing.
Also, by accident I came upon the soft Media, aka, greatest catheter story ever. Not really sure how anyone thought this was serious. Hilarious, but not serious.
