The Kamala Harris Thread

Published

Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.

Quote

"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."

Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

Earth-shattering!

I'm trying to figure out if Trump's supporters want to have a comparative discussion about candidate ethics, morals or character.  It kind of seems like they do.

It should to those who watched the cheesy staged interaction and came away fawning over their "likability ".

Portraying themselves as something different than what they truly are seems to be a big part of their campaign strategy.

There's no debating that the Harris/Walz ticket is represented by smiles and optimism. That is likeable.  Trump is divisive and rude and not very likeable.

Do you think that Trump and Vance portray themselves honestly to the public?

Swiftboat, AI crowds, tampons for teen girls and now hot dish recipes.

Weird.

This post is weird...

I'm skeptical as to measures to reduce price gouging would work. I would rather offer companies reduced taxes if profits were directed to wages or childcare or safer workplaces.

Not the worst idea, if it was set up properly.   Of course,  it's hard to rely on the government to set things up properly.

I said that it was staged and policy is more important.  But they are people I would invite to dinner.  I don't know what they are like in real life.  Do you?   Trump and Vance not so much.

Leadership is more important than  likability.

Also we can talk about issues but Kamala the Communist is poor reporting and fear mongering at worst and just ignorant at best.  In Communism, the State owns the industry.  In all industrialused societies the state regulates industry because we saw what happened when left to their own devices.  Be upset at over stepping but call it what it is.

So what?  I'm not running for national office.

It's still a fact that those "critiques" are being offered as a reason to vote republican. On the weirdness scale, they are right up there with tan suits, Jewish space lasers and female biology having a way of taking care of pregnancies resulting from legitimate rape.

Not to mention Harris' blatant racism about "tuna and mayonnaise " being"white man" food. Could you imagine if Walz referenced fried chicken and watermelon?

I know that's a stereotype for African Americans, but harris' black heritage is Jamaican.  Eventhough she pretends she's from the hood. I wonder if her privileged life has led her to believe AA live in the hood. Is that why she uses that fake accent?

It was Walz that was explaining his "white guy taco" so he was involved in the conversation.  But yes, people are offended about the "racist back and forth banter".  I find that petty, but can't tell anyone what to be offended about.  Fox News sure was.  I think with her coming from Indian and Jamaican heritage, both cuisines which use a lot of spices, it was amusing to see her cringe at his lack of spices in his food.

Personally, I find American food boring.  People put salt and pepper on a piece of meat and called "seasoned".  LOL

I missed the part about her pretending she's from the hood.  Google isn't helping, so what are you talking about.

I do know Trump said she was denying her black heritage and suddenly became black.  Is that it?

I know sometimes my accent changes, especially when I'm being very casual with souther people verses when I'm in a professional setting.  But again, what are you talking about?

I don't know about her privileged background but this was a good article when she became the VP nominee.  She didn't talk much about being from the hood so that must be something new.  But really if she claimed to be from the hood she knows we can fact check right?

Also those that make false claims know we can fact check too right?

I'm not sure if Walz asked her about her favorite meal and he asked if it was fried chicken would go over so easily. But meh, I don't take offence just pointing out the hypocrisy.  (Not referring to you but the general attitude).

It's called code-switching.
