Fox can scramble for important stories like how CNN distorted the truth about covid while people died. (eye roll on that one) and the "Dems" can let Trump go. They have the Presidency and they did their due diligence and can sleep at night and it's time to make a better country and clean up the wreckage.

She pleaded with witnesses to step forward and share what they knew about Trump’s actions and statements as the attack was underway.
“To the patriots who were standing next to the former president as these conversations were happening, or even to the former vice president: if you have something to add here, now would be the time,” Herrera Beutler said in the statement.
It's going to be tit for tat from now on. Which is why Biden having both houses currently needs to
*stack the Supreme Court as a priority,
*ram legislation home preventing and criminalizing possible future gerrymandering and voter suppression,
*make Obamacare final just the same as medicaid or social security with a single payer system,
*remove life term appointments from the current Supreme Court(give them twelve years say)
*and any other agendas related to free and fair elections in the future. Especially Citizens United!
Don't make the same mistakes Obama did for his first two years. Appoint an independent Federal justice related body through legislation, if possible, to oversee any future election tampering independent of the judiciary we currently have.
The partisanship of the judicial system is compromised currently. Both houses are also affected by the partisan nature of its membership.
Only allow the senior members of the houses to participate in choosing the members of such a body, because they already know the history of possible members and no life term appointments. Let the panel itself choose its successors.
Free and fair elections are the only way to preserve the integrity of this Republic. Don't reinvent the wheel. Look around the world and see which systems work best and can be successfully incorporated into our system with minimal modification.

Trumps lawyers don't understand how impeachment is different from civil law and threatened to drag out the trial and call unrelated political witnesses. That worked so well that several republican senators decided that calling a witness would be a good idea. The Senate literally laughed at Trump's lawyer when he got himself all worked up.

McConnell has said he's voting to acquit. Like the last impeachment I think it would be a bit more professional to at least wait until the end of the trial and pretend like you're making a legal decision based on the evidence before expressing your bias.
Just having a quick read before brunch and apparently they want to depose McCarthy and Tuberville? I didn't think they would be able to do that. It's not like a trial, is it?
I think they should be called as witnesses and questioned in public so the American people would also be able to guage responses etc.
