I'm getting ready to hit the shower and head to work for 3-11.
No biggie, double time pay for working the holiday sounds much better than having the day off.
My husbands family does 2 Thanksgivings we also do 2 Christmas's. His mom, sister and her family go to the sister's in-laws house, my hubby and our family usually go to his Dads side (my hubbys dad isn't his sisters dad).
And so that we all can be together, my sister-in-law, my mother-in-law and I prepare another Thanksgiving dinner for the Saturday following Thanksgiving. This is really working well now that I have graduated nursing school and have to work every other holiday.
So, I am not missing out. I will be with my family and have the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, just 2 days later than most people :)
Wishing all a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Not working! One of the perks of the OR......only 1 Holiday call per year!

I'm home today.........working all weekend though. It's OK, I've had four days off and am actually looking forward to it.
I don't have to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, either. I'm on call for admissions on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but I volunteered for that........I don't drink, so there's no chance of being hung over, and I'd really like the double-time pay!

Me, me...I'm home! Have an oatmeal facial on, getting ready to take a scented bath and have some great books to read, a list of television shows I plan to watch, and have to go in tomorrow. Enjoy!

Off today and tomorrow (with pay); but, on call till Saturday. Finally don't have to work a Holiday (or weekends) unless an emergency arises since switching to PACU-for this I AM truly thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
