I'm heading out to cast my vote. I'm really tired of this election and my anxiety about it has been high. What little I've seen is that Harris has held her own and Trump has proven to be...well Trump, and I'll leave it at that. And that Fox News has heavily campaigned against Harris and made a huge issue of the border. They thought it newsworthy that Taylor Swift had the nerve to attend her boyfriend's football game on election eve instead of being at a Harris rally.
Looking forward to moving on no matter what happens.

I'm thinking though that Latin America isn't going to be a high priority for either one of them after the election.
Supposedly her purpose in being named "Border Czar" four years ago was to work on root causes.
Maybe she just needs another four to finish the job?
Yes, that has been her answer "there's more to do". LOL. I've long said the border has been a challenge the administration hasn't met. But deportations are happening and the crossings apparently are at a level when Trump left. She also needs cooperation of a congress that isn't in anyway going to give them any hint of progress at the border and anything she does is labeled "America Last".
Anyway, along with gun control, abortion, I think I'm going to add the border to things I'm done with.

Thanks! The election is almost over so I'll come back. I frequently take a sabbatical from news and political forums prior to an election, but election fatigue hit very early this cycle. LOL
That's very shortsighted of you. When a person moves into and repairs a blighted house, they become taxpayers. Their properties become more valuable, etc. Communities in which people are invested are called successful. Businesses will move in, etc. When people are housing insecure their brains don't work normally. It makes no sense not to house people.

Who called her the "border czar"? You? Do you think that was her official title or even reflected her duties? It's just another sillly nickname. Perhaps one of the reasons that we are not seeing the huge number of asylum seekers now is that she has used diplomacy to get Mexico to police it's own southern border. Their border is much smaller than ours and can actually be policed. And investors are sending money into the four most problematic countries to build industries there to keep them in their own countries. Diplomacy is so damn slow but the results are more permanent. So it appears that she DID do her job since Texas no longer has to cage people and Mexico doesn't have to set up detention centers. I just got back from Washington, DC. The city has really transitioned since I was there last. They have a large supply of foreign labor to drive cabs, work in hotels , restaurants, construction . These people are doing the jobs that our lazy people don't want to do and keeping the economy rolling. No Republican has accomplished what she has in terms of protecting our own border. The Republicans did NOTHING., nada, zilch except piss and moan about to just shoot them, which is probably what they wanted to do.

We've discussed "border czar". I posted a video of liberal media referring her as that and then when the border situation became what it is, those same ones tried to pretend she was never that.
Asylums are down because Biden implemented a policy, similar to one Trump had but Biden got rid of, that he could have implemented a long time ago. Or, better yet, he should have never got rid of Trump's policies.
Great for immigrants in DC. Legal immigration is wonderful.
