I traditionally have a thread heading to the election, here we go.
Get out the popcorn for this one.
QuoteFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally announce next week he is running for president in 2024, NBC News reported Thursday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The governor's official entry into the Republican primary field will put him head-to-head with former President Donald Trump, the party's current frontrunner for the nomination. Trump has already spent months treating DeSantis as his primary campaign rival, thrashing him with torrents of criticism over his gubernatorial record, his political skills and his personality.

Yes and some people can move to a state that better suits their healthcare needs like abortion. Just like a person doesn't have to disclose their health care status and find a new job.
QuoteNo. I'm just wondering what it considered private medical information and what is not?
No, you weren't just clarifying what was included in PHI.
I wonder about a health professional who isn't pretty clear about what is and isn't PHI. I'm suspicious of a nurse who would say that losing your job for refusing to comply with employer requirements is the same as having to leave your state to obtain needed health care because of other people's feelings and beliefs; and then pretends that they didn't.
Maybe you can explain these things.
Crusades said:They should ask Trump for some tips.
I'm not sure why, Trump just got shot in the ear and is currently avoiding large outdoor venues away from the airport. Even after he was shot he kept standing up and putting his head out for target practice in spite of the efforts of his SS detail. I don't think he's the guy to go to for tips on avoiding getting shot.
Crusades said:You just seem educated on the subject and have allot if experience. You asked me if on my labor/delivery rotation in school if I saw such circumstances related to later pregnancy abortions. Have you? Was there a medical indication that required "killing the fetus"? If no, that's fine.
I am educated on the subject.
Yes I have seen 2nd trimester terminations. I'm one of those rare males who had actual experience working in perinatoloy and obsterics. My spouse worked in high risk Obstetrics for years.
Why are you asking if there is ever medical indication for an offered medical intervention? Can you appreciate how illogical the question is? Do you honestly think that a medical facility would include that option on their digital platform if there was no medical indication?
Come on now.

QuoteDonald Trump's failure, when asked on the debate stage to say if he wanted Ukraine to win the war, may not have surprised people here but it adds to their worry about what a second Trump term would bring.
Trump has long boasted he could end in the conflict in 24 hours, a prospect many Ukrainians assume would mean an incredibly bad deal with Kyiv forced to give up huge swathes of the land Russia has seized over the past two and a half years.
In contrast, Ukrainians will have been reassured by Kamala Harris's responses, with no sign she would deviate from the current position of staunch American support.
In the Middle East;
QuoteHere in the Middle East, the race for the White House is being keenly watched.
With the war in Gaza raging and a ceasefire deal still elusive, some of Benjamin Netanyahu's critics suspect that Israel's prime minister is deliberately stalling until after the election, in the hope that Trump will be more sympathetic to Israel than Harris.
There's a whiff of history perhaps being about to repeat itself.
In 1980, Ronald Reagan's campaign team was suspected of urging Iran not to release American hostages held in Tehran until after he had beaten President Jimmy Carter, saying Reagan would give Iran a better deal.
Could something similar be afoot now? Certainly Netanyahu's opponents believe he is now the chief obstacle to a ceasefire deal.
Can you trust right wing extremist leaders? Isn't Netanyahu already in some corruption soup?
Apparently Trump's praise of Orban was a hit in Hungary. I liked Walz's response.
Quote"He [Trump] was asked to name one world leader who was with him, and he said Orban. Dear God. That's all we need to know.’

I did not claim or suggest there wasn't or there not is a medical indication for the proceedure. I asked for a condition specifically.
What would be a medical consideration that requires "killing the fetus" in the uterus before delivery to save a woman's heath or life?
Nor was I asking what medical intervention would require an abortion. This is ridiculous and you know I was not saying that. I had a emergency intervention myself. Nor was I suggesting that there wasn't "ever a medical condition" to accept a recommended abortion.
If you do not know and want to accept that there must be because the proceedure exist then that is that.
Ypu obviously do not know or cannot find any information.
My take aways from the debate:
Trump continues to indicate that tariffs only affect the importing country, which is patently false. Is he intentionally lying, or is he delusional?
He refuses to admit he lost the 2020 election, and emphasizes his vote total, but not Biden's. Again, lie or delusion?
I feel his statements about how undocumented immigrants are taking black and hispanic jobs incredibly racist.
He admitted to negotiating with the Taliban. Seems to be on a first name basis, as he referred to "Abdul". Yikes!
He refused to say he wanted Ukraine to win the war. And emphasized Russian losses. Yikes, again.
Harris could have explained better why she has changed her view on fracking and Medicare for All. I believe she has evolved to understand that both of these subjects are more complicated than perhaps she understood 5 years ago.
I think she could have gone into more detail about her work on immigration, and how the border bill would have helped, and that she will push for passage.
I think she could have directed people to her website where I see they have made policy statements on many issues.
I appreciated the fact checking by the moderators. I don't know why, but the whole tariff thing just grates on me, and I wonder how many people believe Trump. He cited the Wharton School of Business, and I bet they cringe every time he does.

So you have no examples of mental illness and/frontal lobe dementia?
Trump didn't do well. I agree. However I fail to see the symptoms you feel so strongly about. You could elaborate but you don't. Cool.

Not everyone is in agreement on tariffs. And let's not forget Biden kept and even increased some of them.

Why would she mention her failed work on immigration?
