The Bad Day Thread

Published

Aw. So, I'm already having a bad day.

One of my students, the one that tells people I'm her mom because she really doesn't have anyone else to call mom, just came to say goodbye.

Moving in with her real mom, who is trying like hell to make things right with her daughter.

She'd better.

I corrected the kid when she called me mom, btw. She was just in my office every.single.day. and I care about her.

Happy the kid is hopefully getting a fresh start. Sad for me.

Just found out a parent, a mom, who is also a nurse, died today. She was also my friend. The kid is a great kid. The older kids here are completely devastated, as am I. Bad day.

So very sorry, Far. ((Hugs))

I removed the COB from my siggy after realizing I own this thread.:(

I'm too mushy to be crusty.

Love you guys.

You may be mushy, Far'wyn, and not always crusty....but don't you at least feel IRRITABLE sometimes? That's a pre-req. for COB; you can do it!

Being crusty doesn't mean you feel nothing because of your crust; every body weeps and seeps. It is your body's way of shucking off stressors that can't be relieved any other way. Isn't that nice? When you are unable, your body says "LET ME!" It would be abnormal to remain cool and untouched, under the circumstances.

My psychologist used to have to remind me to feel my feelings, just sit with them. It ain't easy, especially when you feel SO MUCH! I can be real good at distracting myself. I'm easy to entertain. Who wants to hang around, with all this crappola inside, when turning a knob or clicking on the 'puter can push it away?

I'm sorry you feel so crummy. Since "the only way out, is through", be patient with yourself. (Oh, how many times have we all heard THAT???)

We have had a sad few days here. 3 of our students lost there young mother after a long fight with cancer. We are having blankets made for each of them. The blankets will have a family picture and the saying on it will be- "I will always cover you with my wings."

It was the secretaries idea. Yeah, the No Pity Bitty President. Yesss...she rocks!! Love her.

Here I am again.

A dad died this morning. Suddenly. Small, town, yes we are all friends with him. Bigger than life loudmouth. Has 2 kids in the HS. Kids are still reeling from the last one.

Oh goodness. Sometimes it seems we just catch our breath from one tragedy, when another hits. So sorry for another loss. You, your school and your community are in my prayers!
