Thanksgiving Break is Upon Us!

Hello fellow school nurses! :specs:

Thanksgiving break is upon us!:chicken: I wasn't working in this setting at this time last year, so I wanted to hear from you all;

How crazy does it get before the holiday break?! :ninja:

When are you all out for break? ;)

Can't wait to hear from you guys! :coollook:Thanks!

We are out all next week - I can't wait! Off to Big Bend NP on Saturday with 3 girlfriends for 5 days of camping/backpacking - leaving kids and husbands at home :)

We're off all next week and come back the following Tuesday. Today has been a bunch of unnecessary visits already (3rd grade teacher has a sick kid at home, so now every cough is a deadly illness), Thursday my office will be a wasteland because it's Thanksgiving dinner day and the kids LOVE that, the insanity will pick back up Friday and on Tuesday I'll lose my mind over "last Monday", "on Thanksgiving" and "My brother was sick on Tuesday" visits. From Tuesday until winter break will be rough...

Usually before a holiday, things slow down because of all the fun activities the kids do. Knock on wood, nothing bad happens.

Same ^

Next Tuesday is my last day before the break and on monday and tuesday they have special things for the kiddos planned and a lot of my families are actually taking the little ones out all of next week to travel and see family

We are currently off Wed-Thurs-Fri but I predict that in the next few years we will have the whole week off. So many families take their kids out for that Mon and Tues to travel.

Our district finally worked it out to have the entire week off; no academics occurred during that week and it was the peak time for absenteeism. Little bonus for me this year...Sweet Petunia and I are going on an 8 day Caribbean cruise the week after Thanksgiving:cool::happy:

I wanted to add that I feel like it is crazy NOW. I've seen 45 little ones and I still have another 1.5 hours of school left!

Best laugh of the day. Unnecessary visits. BWHAHAHH!

Today was CRAZY! We might as well not come to school for the rest of the week; unfortunately we are here until Friday! Good luck everyone and enjoy your time off!

Today was definitely crazy for me, too! I am right there with you guys on counting down the days! Fortunately, a whole week off here.

Thank you guys for always replying! You guys are so awesome and it is always so nice hearing from fellow school nurses! Have a happy Tuesday friends!

We have teacher institute days Monday and Tuesday but I don't have to work these two, so I get the whole week off! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (because food :woot:) and we are hosting my family at my apartment for lunch this year (will go to in laws' for dinner). It's my first holiday season as a school employee, plus I am in the middle of my first pregnancy, so I am super thrilled to have the time to relax and enjoy family!!!

(We did see over 50 kiddos yesterday so it may be an uphill battle to get there :lurking: very minimal dismissals though as everyone seems pretty darn healthy so at least there's that! *knock on wood*)
