Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but they finally closed the application packet of the tcc website. Maybe they are now getting the ball rolling. Geezzzz, this wait is horrible :)

Well, I have no choice but to wait and see if I get in, and if not hope that I can get into a micro class this summer. Oh please, let me get in. :)

Yeah I'm the same way.. I wa going to take summer classes to get 'bonus' points and to make up one of my non-science grades but there is no point of taking them if I get in. I just can't imagine them sending the letters out later than the first week of may.. Especially since JM said by may1st. This is very frustrating. Maybe I'll send JM an email and see what the status of the letters are so that way she can answer when she wants to.

Hello everyone! Did any of you also notice that the link to the program's FAQ's was taken down? I know that last year they made some changes around this time to some of the pre req classes we needed to have completed in order to apply. I was told by a counselor not to long ago that they might add college algebra as a pre req. I really hope she was just giving me false information as I have not taken that class. I think I will register for it in the summer just in case and then drop it if I get in this time around. Happy waiting for everyone, we are getting so close!

I also heard that they might change the math requirement as well as make changes to other pre-req requirements.

I got an email back from JM. Once again, they aren't sure when the letters will go out at all. She said there's a lot of questions still being asked and a lot of information in the works.

Not sure when we will find out gang!.. It could be middle to late may.. But I really think it will be before summer classes start!

I also have heard about them changing the pre-reqs. I already have math and most classes for my bachelors, but I'm not excited abt taking the HESI if I'm not in this time around. Still trying to have faith!! I really wanted to find out whether I'm in or not before my vacation so I can relax.. Which is may 8th. Lol not very likely now..

hey all, my teacher told me today that TOMORROW(april 15) they will be making the FINAL decision on the number of students they will be accepting.. just a little tid bit i heard! good luck all! its hard! we were learning IV's today!=)pretty fun!

Thanks Lolocoro! If you hear anything tomorrow can you please post!! :)

Woooo thats good news!!!

no school for me tomorrow! so call monday! =) i think itll be 130, not 100, bc they are wanting to make the program bigger, but they dont move into the building until the week before the fall semester starts, so they dont want to overwhelm themselves, which from what i heard is also why letters arent going early, the other building isnt done and they need to figure out where orientation is to send in packets. it costs them to mail, which is why only one letter is going out. just what i was hearing around the block;)

Hey everyone, I'm NEW!!! Well actually I have been reading everyone's posts for a while and just decided to chime in. I'm really nervous about this application period for the fall... I only have a 2.75 in my sciences and about a 3.2 overall (don't really know because I haven't calculated everything from all of my schools that I have attended.) And I have a TEAS of 76% overall. Do yall think I have even a slight chance of getting in? I haven't seen (read) of anyone with that low of a science gpa...

It's hard to know what your chances are. I know the science GPA is important, so that may make it tougher, but in past posts (on other threads) I've seen people get accepted who had lower gpa's and scores than some who didn't get in. So, it depends on if everyone has met all requirements and where you fall on the list.

Good Luck, and welcome to the group.
