Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

Yes it was very nice meeting everyone. Our journey has just begun and I cant wait for Aug 29th. Quote: Dimentional Analysis is not math...:)

Wow, what a day! I'm with you ab, I had no idea I would be so exhausted when I got home last night. I am definitely excited (and feeling slightly overwhelmed) to start school in another week!

It was such a pleasure to meet all of you: Loly, studentcl, ab, Mr. Joeboto, lmd, Sue, val, rajah... you guys are so great (along with the rest of you that I didn't get the chance to meet yesterday)! I feel like we have an awesome group of students going into the program, and like Loly said earlier, it's nice to know that we've endured this journey together. I wish each of you the best of luck in the coming weeks and months. And I hope our friendships only continue to grow from this point forward. You guys are awesome!!

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Etsy, but after doing a quick search I came across several "shops" that sell unique badge pulls. I found one that is extremely reasonable in price (and even carries SPORTS badge pulls for the guys :) ), but I'm not sure if I can post the shop name on here. Feel free to send me a PM for the information if you're interested. I just thought it would be a cute way to add a personal touch to our uniforms.

It was so great to meet y'all! I was scared and overwhelmed at first, but meeting you guys and having everyone around so supporting of eachother helped so much! Thanks for everything and I hope we do all still communicate and celebrate our peaks!! :)

If what I heard from friends Thurs. is accurate, about 40 people there were former 2011 Spring semester students who have to repeat their classes. So that means the rest of us were actually competing for 70-80 spots?? Wow. I'm glad I didn't know that during that long wait for acceptance letters. I wonder if that is true every year. I also will treat these classes with even more seriousness. Any suggestions on what the best recording devices are? Anyone have a smaller size laptop, netbook, ipad, etc. you can discuss the pros and cons of using in class? I want all the help I can afford.

Does anyone know how many actually graduate this program each semester? I can't believe I forgot to ask at orientation.

That is scary. I really hope we all do well. We better get some good study groups together.

I found a digital recorder at walmart for $30 that I plan on buying.

Whoever still needs books published by Pearson check this out!!! I just ordered the Fundamentals pkg. from The Pearson Store using a 30% off coupon code (mpsmca) I found on retailmenot:):). At TCC it's $168. I paid $118 w/tax and free shipping (5-8 bus. days). I already bought the test individually and started reading the chapters, but the bookstore said as long as it looks brand new they will take it back before classes start. Wish I had known about this earlier! I think it may be good thru 12-31-11, so maybe we can use next semester, too.

For those of you who are taking CPR through TCC, how easy is it to get to the room the TNSA representatives told us about? I guess the one in building 9?

It was very easy, just go in the door on the street level, just off belknap. Walk down the coridor and it will be on the right. You can see all the tables set up for cpr.

I went on Tuesday and had to walk down the stairs off belknap and then go through the glass double doors and up the elevators back to street level to that room. It wasn't bad though because there was a girl at the bottom of the stairs helping people.

My CPR class instructors were very mean.. At least the male was. I was very upset with how he treated our class. I hope that y'all have different instructors and don't have to go through the insanity I did!

I'm just ready for Monday!!

But good note... my classes finally showed up on campus cruiser!!! So that makes me so much more excited for monday!!! :)

Oh no! I have it tomorrow! Is there anything we should do or avoid doing to prevent triggering his "meanness"? I'm paying for them to teach, not be mean. I didn't buy the optional guide. Am I in trouble already? Did everyone in your class complete the course?

One last question, was it over at exactly 3 pm? I have kids that get out of school at 3:20.
