I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
I just read my comment and not sure if it was too clear. There was a huge scrub store (the one your husband is talking about tht used to be on the corner of the mall) which is shut down. Uniform destination is open in place of that a couple stores down. Hope that makes more sense :)
Thanks lmd! I will definitely check them out next weekend (and I didn't even think about taking a patch with me to compare colors... there were many different shades of teal at Scrubs, etc as well).

Where are you guys finding your scrubs and labcoats? I went to Scrubs, etc. today, and just felt completely overwhelmed by it all. There are like 10 or so major brands, each brand has 2 or 3 different styles (of tops and bottoms)... I've never been so frustrated in my life! A small top in one brand would be too small, a medium top in another brand was way too big. I'm not used to wearing scrubs, so I'm not sure if I had a different idea of how they should fit, but it was aggrivating to say the least. I ended up coming home with Urbane brand pants, Grey's Anatomy (Barco) brand tops and a Dickies labcoat. LOL! No one ever said they all had to be the same brand! Anyway, I have 30 days to reutrn it all if I wish. Was just wondering if y'all had any recommendations on other places to shop or other brands to look for?
Hi Dreamer, I went to Scrubs etc on Prencict some time back and was able to find an NRG teal cargo pants and Greys Anatomy top by Barco. They were the only ones that fit well and felt right. Good luck on finding the right fit.
Hi question for you guys. The last thing I had to turn in was my health form and photograph. There was a little box with ATTN bev right next to a couple of offices in the south campus nursing building. I put my envelope with my stuff in that basket..Do you know if she checks that? I have tried to contact her but havent gotten through..I just wanna make sure I have everything turned in by the deadline.
I drop all my stuff in the same box that we dropped our applications in. That is where they told me to drop things.
I'm guessing that they are going to open registration to us as soon as we pass the drug screen??? Because I have to get a flue shot and they are not available yet. Hopefully they will waive that requirement until they are available.
I also turned all my stuff into the box we put applications in.. That's also what they told me. And yes, they will let us register without the flu shot. I'm taking my CPR on the 23rd so I can't until after that. At least we know that we are in a set class and don't have to fight over seats like before.
I bought two greys anatomy scrub tops at life uniform. I dropped those off to have the patches sewn on today. I have had a little trouble finding scrub pants that fit also. I purchased 1 pair from life uniform (won't be returning there as the prices are significantly higher than scrubs, etc. I did purchase another pair today at scrubs etc. I went with a petite size. I am not petite, but they fit pretty great compared to everything else I tried on. Other than that, I did my physical and dropped off a few things at the campus.
@Loly, I am. I have always just used a tote bag, but I am thinking that isn't going to cut it for nursing school. I'm not really sure where to get those at. I was thinking I would check out Ross or Marshall's and then not sure where to go if I don't find anything there.
I just checked overstock.com and they have quite a few in many different colors for around $40. I may order one from there over the weekend.....I am for sure getting one though. I think it will just make life a little easier. lol
