Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

Which diagnosis book did you go with, Loly?

Sparks & Taylor's. It had really great reviews and It was very cheap. If this one doesn't work out, I won't feel terrible about buying a different one.

I was reading some of the CID for Clinical yesterday. It is surreal to be this close to starting. The catheter procedure was definitely intimidating. Lol

That is what I thought about the catheter procedure.

I think I may be getting a suitcase on wheels instead of a backpack. These books are huge.

How long does it take to get name tags in? I ordered mine about two weeks ago. Also, can I just walk into the bookstore and purchase the CID or do I need to purchase online and go pick up?

I ordered my name tags and they said 2-3 weeks but within a week I got a call that they were in.

I think you can probably just walk in and purchase them, but I ordered them online over the weekend and I picked them up yesterday.

So we can just print the CID's, right? We don't have to go to the campus and purchase them, right?

As far as I know you can print them yourself. However, the one that I looked at for Skills alone was 133 pages (on Cartella). It was $6.77 for the Theory and Clinicals CID from the bookstore, the updated Skills CID was not available yet.

Okay thanks. I can print them from work. I work as a receptionist on Wed nights and basically just sit here, so that will give me something to do!

I can't wait to start.

And I am assuming they are hole punched and you will keep them in a binder for that class?

Loly should be able to answer that question, I believe she has already picked hers up. I haven't had time to go downtown to pick mine up yet. I don't see why they wouldn't be, though... but I could be wrong.
