For those of you that are currently in a two year (ADN) nursing program, are there any summer nursing classes that you are able to take after your first year of nursing school is over with?

I'm a little confused by your post but at my school we have to go to take nursing classes year round including summer. They only offer each class once per year so if you don't take the class your out of the program.
At my school, once your in the nursing program, you go fall/spring fall/spring and then your done.

At my program there is an optional summer class. You can take it for 3 or 6 weeks over the summer or during the fall term for 2 hours a week. It is a 2 credit 30 hour course. The class is on different little things like the NCLEX, evidenced based practice research, interviewing and applying for nursing jobs, and nursing ethics.

I'm taking mental health this summer so I don't have two lecture classes next fall. I know some folks are taking complex health alterations instead of MH, but that sounds like a big fat opportunity to fail, so I'm taking the path of least resistance.
A few people failed promotions or alterations and will take that this summer to catch up with our class. I don't think anyone can make up failed clinicals, so they're out of our class and will graduate (at least) a semester behind.

I wish I could take the upcoming fall and spring courses this summer and be done with it. I'm fine with taking 30 hours in the summer, lol.

We usually take trends in the summer or fall since it is only one credit.

I am taking dosage calculations. I have heard it is easy but there is a foreign lang class that is REALLY hard to get into that I want to take in the fall and I snagged a spot so I am going to cross dosage off the list early :)

My classmates are taking classes towards their ADN graduation requirements that they haven't taken yet i.e. humanities, speech, communications, Math. Or take some classes that would count towards your BSN- never too early to start! :)
