Summer 2012 - Check in

Published

OK, since enrollment for Summer 2012 is close to starting, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for those of us who are taking courses this summer.

What courses are you taking? Is this your first time taking the class? When will you apply for nursing school?

Good luck to you all and let's keep each other updated on our summer classes in this thread :D

Hello Everyone:

I finished my English 102 course yesterday. My final grade was an A. I had a really great teacher, especially for five weeks. Now, on to the bad news. We had our A&P1 lab midterm last week. The teacher just posted our grade for our midterm. I made a 67:cry: which is a D. I have NO idea how that happened. I studied during the day while I worked and at night. My teacher and I made an appointment to go over my test just in case there is a mistake. I pray that it is. I am so disappointed in myself. My teacher says if I make an A on the final, that I can still come out with a really high B. I know that I shouldnt feel like this, but it makes me question if I can handle nursing. I have A's and B's in the rest of my classes. It is nice to hear everyone else is doing really well. Congrats!!

Ugh, final for a&p 2 is tommorow I can't even study I am so overwelmed. I am so close to just shutting my books and winging it. All I need is a 50% to end the class with a B. But I need a 87 or higher to get an A, I don.t think I can so I am feeling ''why stress?''. Ugh. Studying till my eyes go numb. :(

Last exam for my Pharm class on the 3rd. Trying get back my A. Drop a couple of point last exam. Had my first panic attack on my second exam and got an B. next week is do or die because if I pass I'm in the program. So pulling out all the stops and studying the review sheet. Plus made an audio review sheet. I am not playing with this exam. Orientation will be on the 12th of July. So happy but scared.

I got another B on my test from yesterday. Would you believe that I marked the scantron wrong for a problem I worked out and had the right problem written on the test? The teacher wouldn't give me credit though. I also did a couple dumb mistakes. I seem to be full of those though. I was pretty tired when I took the test and I think that affected me. I can still get an A in the class though but UGH. I wish I had more wiggle room for the final.

As of tomorrow, I'll be halfway through the summer semester...yay! (We have an 8 week term). So far, I *love* my Phlebotomy class. Lots of practical use. The quicker you get 2 blood draws done, the quicker you get to go home. I've been fortunate enough to get the hang of it right away, so I've been able to leave early. The instructors all work at the hospital I want to work in, so they give me lots of info on what it's like to work there. I also found out my lab instructor for Phlebotomy will be my preceptor at the hospital when I do my phlebotomy externship in the fall. She's great! I'm looking forward to it.

Anatomy has students dropping like flies. We're down to 12 students now and I'm pretty sure after this last test, there are going to be more that drop. The instructor is wonderful...one of my favorite professors so far. There is a group of 5 of us that are very serious about the class and we're the only ones who stay the entire time in lab to work on everything. Not surprisingly, we're the ones who get the best grades in the class.

Psychology and Healthy Lifestyles are the ones I wish I would have taken online. Easy A's, but I feel like I'm wasting my time in the classroom.

So far, so good...got all A's going right now. Hope to keep it that way!!! :)

Just registered for Fall semester yesterday....6 classes!

Specializes in OR.

I'm halfway there. Had my A&P II Lab midterm today, and our second Lecture exam is Monday. I'm so ready for the summer semester to be finished; I could really use a good night's sleep.

Done with the A&P1 course that was 5 weeks and got an A, trying to aim that for A&P 2. I want to get an A in A&P2, but I understand it's a little more difficult in the sense of the whole physiology stuff.

Specializes in ED.

This semester is almost over. Ends July 31st for me. We haven't even taken our second exam

In chemistry.. That lady is nuts and way behind. We don't have to go into class next week but I still have online classes and tons to do! I still have like 4 more papers to write and then my final research paper (7-10 pages long), another history exam plus the final, 6 history chapters to read, 5 more history assignments to complete, 6 more Microsoft assignment plus the last exam (PowerPoint) and then the final for that... And there is no telling what for chemistry. After all, she cures strep throat by eating toothpaste :/

I am so happy, passed pharm final with an A and the class. So happy.
