Student Nurse "Help me!" Threads

Published

I think I'm done answering student nurse help me threads here.

I've gotten rude answers, or they never even bother coming back to the thread to acknowledge the answers they received.

Some will ask life choice questions like "Where should I move?" or "Where should I apply?". Do they think someone is going to offer them a job here, is that why they start these threads? You have the whole internet to research towns, cities, regions, but instead you post a thread asking a bunch of strangers where you should move?

Some help me threads seem to be 'Help me do my homework' threads.

Thank you for reading.

I believe what the OP is saying that if you ask for advise and/or help, the polite thing to do is thank the people that have years of experience helping you. Don't be rude, and please don't get snotty with them. Learn some respect.

I may have not written an individual thank you to each person that has answered my questions, but at least I acknowledge them. So thank you ladies and gents for all your help, and all your hard work.

No, I'm not. Look it up. As a matter of fact, it's a common phenomenon and was just the subject of my last nurse residency. Of course, if you're being closed-minded and literal, you WOULD read violence and assume something over the top. Sheesh.

Victims of real violence don't agree with the use of the term "violence" when violence is not involved. They need to stop overdramatizing. "Horizontal violence," get real. From the most recent joke of an article on this "phenomenon" I can find:

"Horizontal violence tends to be covert, hard to discern, or discover..."

THEN IT'S NOT VIOLENCE. STOP BEING PETTY OVERDRAMATIC SORORITY GIRLS.

I'm not old, but I'm frequently crusty! Can I be an honorary member?

That's why my signature refers to being a future crusty old bad… I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting closer every day!

Oh, and I stole that signature from someone else (with their permission) so feel free to steal it from me!

It's like calling someone a Nazi. Uh, yeah, right. Um, didn't they kill 11 million people in their gas chambers alone?

Thank you hey_suz

Thank you ixchel, although I do not see the arrow box you are referring to but I think this will work.

I have, at the bottom of each post, a "reply", a "quote" and a " button. Clicking on the " of each post will allow you to multi-quote quite easily.

I'm sorry but i don't see what's wrong with a student or "pre-nursing student" asking for help. Maybe because I have created a thread asking which book are most beneficial. Everyone needs help. So i don't see the issue. not to mention there is a way to narrow what Type of threads you want to view on your timeline

I don't have that third button, only the Reply and Quote.

Same here. Maybe it depends on the browser or Mac/PC?

I have this:

Once I click it, I have this:

You can't use the the box that appears at the bottom of the thread; you have to click the green "Leave a Comment" button. Sure is interesting how so many browsers view the same site differently!

Edit to add:

You do have to enable multiquote. This can be done under account settings- click account, change drop down menu to edit settings, and click the check box for enable multi quote under site settings.
