Sticky removal from skin! aka Today I was the patient

Hi guys,

This is sort of embarassing for me, but I thought this would be a great place to turn to for an answer.

Today I had a GI procedure and they stuck all these sensors to my abdomen with these round adhesive pads. They ripped them off, but I CANT GET the stickyness off and it's driving me crazy!!

My skin is also super sensitive, so that doesn't help.

I've tried the soap and water technique (scrubbed for a half an hour) but still can't get it all off.:banghead:

Also, I tried nail polish remover (burned!) and Hydrogen Peroxide, but no luck.

Best remedies for this?

rubbing alcohol - course if I read other posts, I'd have seen they wrote the same thing.... I always like to post my response without being biased....

She has probably already rubbed her skin raw . . . I'd wait on the alcohol (ouch!) and put on some petroleum jelly to sooth it and that might help get the sticky off too.

i was going to suggest rubbing alcohol as well, but steph brought up a good point...

so, i was thinking of witch hazel?

it's an astringent but soothes as well.

I have yet to meet anything that a little Goo Gone (found in the detergent section of the store, it is a yellow-orange liquid) couldn't remove, though it does say on the back of the bottle not to use on skin. It has never burned when I used it, and I just wash it off really good.

I've always liked to walk on the wild side!

Witch Hazel still has 14% alcohol.

I like the baby oil or olive oil ideas too.

well if that's the case, op could use comet and a steel pad.:)
