Sticky removal from skin! aka Today I was the patient

Hi guys,

This is sort of embarassing for me, but I thought this would be a great place to turn to for an answer.

Today I had a GI procedure and they stuck all these sensors to my abdomen with these round adhesive pads. They ripped them off, but I CANT GET the stickyness off and it's driving me crazy!!

My skin is also super sensitive, so that doesn't help.

I've tried the soap and water technique (scrubbed for a half an hour) but still can't get it all off.:banghead:

Also, I tried nail polish remover (burned!) and Hydrogen Peroxide, but no luck.

Best remedies for this?

Thanks!!

When the estrogen patches first hit the market years ago I tried them. I STILL have a circular mark were I pulled the first one off. I say goo-gone or cooking oil, gently applied and allowed to sit for a moment or two.

A little baby oil under the edge of tape/electrode patches will help to loosen the tape without pulling out the hair. We keep some handy for removing tape on scalp IV's. We also have Whisk pads for removing sticky residue, they are oil based pads. Unfortunately, they look just like alcohol wipes, and I've found them mixed in the supplies!

maybe some mayonnaise.

maybe some mayonnaise.

in high school the rage was putting mayo on hair after shampooing as conditioner . ...oh but your hair smelled like mayo and was so oily.

blech.
