Hello everyone:

I just had to vent about this recent video that I saw on Comcast "The Fan". It is a video about a new requirement that one Spain hospital is requiring of their nurses. The newscast states that these nurses must wear mini-skirts in order to receive a bonus each month. But, if that were not bad enough in itself, the way the Fox News crew that talk about the newscast is even more disturbing. I pray that one day these sickening comments and stereotypes will go away. If any of you have a way to spread the word that this is not the way that nurses need to be portrayed, please pass this along and share this story/video or post here how others can help and let's help stop the sexist views of our profession.

ironic to be watching this after I had a drunken crachead that was 25 try to feel me up at work last night. It didn't dissuade him at all when I told him I had a 26 y/o son.

What do you think his chances of rehabiliation are?

I actually feel sorry for the kid if a 50 y/o gets him excited. He must not have much of a social life.

I hope that everyone on that newscast gets very sick and has to go to the hospital for real.

I don't want them to die, just be real sick and scared for a short time. Then they can get better and maybe have learned a little

By the way the crachead left ama, quess he didn't think there was much chance of getting any entertainment from his old lady nurse

Yesterday, I tried to find the humour in this segment as I was shocked. However, today when looking for the video from the source to see if it truly was a broadcast of Fox News, there it was plain as day. After watching it again I found it much more offensive and wrote a letter to Fox, the main sight not the program, and offered my own insight into the program's manner of projecting this article. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Thanks for the link.

I just can't believe it, absloutely speechless....such a dissapointment from all members of the news cast. The woman are pathetic, and the jerk of a guy who said that all nurses are ugly. America makes me so sad sometimes......

NURSES, PLEASE STOP BUYING THOSE RIDICULOUS BETTY BOOP NURSING BAGS- it only perpetuates the sterotype! :banghead: Last year the Nursing Image Leader (or something like that) of our SNA had one. That troubled me. :confused:

I just viewed the Fox video. The news from Spain was bad enough, but frankly, if that commentary is supposed to pass for humor, I sure don't get it.

In fact, I think I'm gonna throw up.
