Sterotypes of Nurses Continues and Is Getting Worse

Hello everyone:

I just had to vent about this recent video that I saw on Comcast "The Fan". It is a video about a new requirement that one Spain hospital is requiring of their nurses. The newscast states that these nurses must wear mini-skirts in order to receive a bonus each month. But, if that were not bad enough in itself, the way the Fox News crew that talk about the newscast is even more disturbing. I pray that one day these sickening comments and stereotypes will go away. If any of you have a way to spread the word that this is not the way that nurses need to be portrayed, please pass this along and share this story/video or post here how others can help and let's help stop the sexist views of our profession.

Thank you so much for keeping us updated about what the Center for Nursing Advocacy is doing. I think this is definitely something that does not need to be placed "under the rug" or "skirt" for that matter. Has anybody watched the movie 'JUST FRIENDS' with Ryan Reynolds have you seen the length of the skirt the nurse on there is wearing as she makes out in the middle of the floor with the EMT GUY!!!!!

They've got nerve. In this day and age I cannot believe this is going on. What about feminine rights? They shouldn't be able to get away with that. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh how far we have not come baby. My Great Grandfather would not allow his daughter( my grandmother) to be a nurse because in his day nurses were women of ill repute, I guess he must be doing sumersaults in his grave over his great granddaughters career choice.:nurse:

Maybe I should go there and work for a day or two wearing one of those, you bet they would all agree that those things are a bad idea very quickly and change the dress code:D

Personally, I think all overweight men and women, and elderly knobby kneed men should show up there one day. That will surely end their new dress code.;)
