So today is the day that i started A&P 1, so far i love the instructor she is so easy going and seems like she cares if each one of her students is successful in her class. I have been reading the Anatomy and physiology made easy book and it seems to be a big help. Anyone else start A&P this summer.Maybe we can all help each other out, and offer support if we should run into trouble.

Hey slow down! Some of us are not done with our Spring Semester!!!
I have already taken A&P 1 and am finishing up with A&P 2. Getting a good instructor makes a world of difference so it sounds like you will be fine. Good luck with your Summer. My summer school starts at the end of the month. :monkeydance:

If your A&P1 is set up like mine was, the beginning of the course was more challenging for me. It was a lot of chemistry that I hadn't taken yet. Also a lot of memorization of planes and quadrants of the body. Not necessarily hard, but a lot of information for someone who was new to these types of classes. Once I got past chapter 2, I did a lot better and knew the teacher's teaching style and what to expect on the tests. It sounds like you are off to a great start and I agree, having a good teacher will make all the difference in the world. Mine was fantastic and I got an A in both A&P 1 & 2. Good luck!

That's great, Andy, glad you're off to a great start! Best of luck to you.
Thanks everyone. I am a little worried because our instructor asked if any of us had taken Chemistry, not may raised hands, but i was one who hadn't taken any sort of chem class yet. She said thats ok she said i will talk a little about things of a chemistry nature from time to time because some stuff deals with it, but not to much. I am wondering can i learn A&P and get a good grade without taken any kind of chemistry class yet??? I am taking it next semester just because i have been interested in it all my life and now that it seems that A&P(and my nursing classes) will deal a lot with it. Some say you don't have to but i think that since it is related to all the things i will talk about in nursing school then i want to learn it.what do you all think, thanks

Best of luck, I've heard horror stories about A&P. The above advice sounds pretty good :) I'll be there soon enough :)

Hey there Andy,
I would love to partner up with you. I had the experience from hell this past semester. My school allows us to take AP 1 or 2 in any order. AP 1 wasn't offered this winter so my counselor told me that I could take AP 2. I did it and was lost the entire semester. I recieved a D. I'm really upset, because of course I have to take it over. Anyway I start AP 1 tommorrow. And I'm pretty enthusiastic, even though I have the same instructor from the AP class that I just failed. Hopefully things will go alot better this time around. If you look at some of the previous post there are links for AP slides and all sorts of tools to help you suceed.
Hope all goes well and hope to hear from you soon.

Finally got to A&P, did ya? Let me know if you need any help. I have a link to a review of high school chemistry for the New York Regents exam that pretty much covers everything you would need to know for basic chemistry. Let me know if you want the link. I also have links to all kinds of anatomy sites. First up are either the cells and the anatomical planes of the body. Then, you get into the bones, right? Let me know if you need any links if you don't already have them.

DAYTONITE--Yes i finally got to A&P, and i will be taking you up on the help offer . The chemistry links will be a big help, i haven't gotten to take a chem class yet and i know that it will be better to understand the basics of chem to go along with the A&P material. Today we started on the cell. Now i am not having that hard of a time understanding everything, but if you or anyone else has any links or anything to help understand the cell functions and structures( how DNA replicates things like that) then i would greatly appreciate it. thanks a lot
