Started A&P 1 today

Published

So today is the day that i started A&P 1, so far i love the instructor she is so easy going and seems like she cares if each one of her students is successful in her class. I have been reading the Anatomy and physiology made easy book and it seems to be a big help. Anyone else start A&P this summer.Maybe we can all help each other out, and offer support if we should run into trouble.

Hello,

I am new to this site as well. I will be starting A&P I at the end of the month. I took A&P I and II in the past but have to retake because it was too old. ARGGHHHHHH I guess if I passed it once I can pass it again.

Uhhh Ohhh i am going to have my first lecture exam Monday..YIKES!!!.... It will be on the cell and DNA and RNA and all that jazz. I am surprised that i even understand it i thought for sure i wouldn't have a clue. Tomorrow is the last day of the school week and i am going to study my tail off over the weekend.

Also today in lab we had a first actual lab. We learned how to use the microscope, some already knew how to, i was one that did not but i got the hang of it really fast. And once we got the hang of that we put the skills to use and set up some slides with animal cells and even swabbed the inside of my cheek to see the cells from that, IT WAS REALLY COOL. well i gotta go to bed I'm so tired just got off work night all

A good instructor is the key. I had a wonderful one who went out of the way to be there for help. Her door was always open

I never had chemistry. It might have made it easier in a chapter or two, but honestly, I did just fine without it. I finished with a 93 average.

i am taken A&P this summer semester too... I have a really hard teacher, but I know he will teach me alot. I havent taken Chem either so your not the only ones.

Sorry i haven't posted to this thread in a while, i have been extremely busy with A&P and getting things done so i can start nursing in the fall.

So how is everyone doing. I am doing OK, I got a C in my first Lecture Exam, i really did not get a chance to study as much as i wanted to because of work, so i had to quit my job sooner than i thought i was going to. i was originally going to quit right before the fall semester started, but now since i see how much time you have to put into A&P itself i had to quit sooner. But I'm not that bummed out. I also got a B on my first Lab Practicum( 1 point away from an A) and i am understanding everything a lot more( its funny what 2 days of nothing but studying can accomplish) so I know i wanted to keep my 4.0 average but i am probably going to get a B provided i do good on my last 3 tests and last Lab practicum. I know i will. Who knows maybe i can still get an A, but i wont be disappointed if i get a B, heck as long as i get a C i am fine. So have any of you started yet, How you doing if so. let me know

Thanks everyone. I am a little worried because our instructor asked if any of us had taken Chemistry, not may raised hands, but i was one who hadn't taken any sort of chem class yet. She said thats ok she said i will talk a little about things of a chemistry nature from time to time because some stuff deals with it, but not to much. I am wondering can i learn A&P and get a good grade without taken any kind of chemistry class yet??? I am taking it next semester just because i have been interested in it all my life and now that it seems that A&P(and my nursing classes) will deal a lot with it. Some say you don't have to but i think that since it is related to all the things i will talk about in nursing school then i want to learn it.what do you all think, thanks

Andy:D

My instructor asked the same thing and not many had raised their hands that they had chemistry. This gives the instructor a little more of a heads up on what she will have to cover and when she will need to do a little more explaining. It seemed to me that we had a little more chemistry to think about with the physiology and a little less of it with the anatomy part. If you are unsure....ask...that is what the instructor is there for and that is what you have paid for...you are the consumer. I could help you with some chemistry related questions if you need it...have already had chemistry, anatomy, and physiology and micro. My A&P were separate from each other so I don't know how A&P I and II go...you would have to then educate me. :lol2:

Way to go!!!! It's so exciting taking new classes!!!! I start A&P I in about a week from now.
