Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

LOL I know how you feel. I felt the same way! I did however find out recently that I am accepted into Springs class...you are not alone. It drove me crazy. Even now I have a fear that they misplaced my acceptance letter even though I walked in and handed to the receptionist. (We turn in an acceptance or deny letter saying if we want the spot or not) I still feel like I should call them to confirm they have it! Good luck to you!

I know this is ridiculous but I keep having this fear that they "lost" my application. I know it hasn't even been the 6-8 weeks after the application deadline but I can't help my fears. I can't focus in my Microbiology class, I can't focus at work and the weeks are slowly creeping by. This wait (as short as it may be) is absolutely driving me INSANE. I feel like if they don't tell me something soon, it won't matter because I will be in a mental hospital. AHHHHHHH!!!!!! Please tell me others are going nuts like me.....

Tally2011, Yes I know exactly how you feel!! Haha maybe they will put us both in a mental hospital! I am the same way! I check my email every 20 minutes.. I can't seem to focus on any one thing at a time! It's like, come on already--I NEED TO KNOW! Haha, but I keep thinking the same thing: that they lost or didn't recieve my application correctly, or they are miss calculating it.. It's always in the back of my mind, that they are calculating my GPA wrong or that they didn't receive my second test scores from HESI (which were higher)! Crazy, Right?? I am praying they surprise us, and tell us sometime this month!! I am not sure, if I have ever wanted anything as badley as I want this.. So, yes your are not alone--the wait is killer!!

Wow, it's very comforting to know that there are so many of us losing our minds together! lol. I put my application in Oct 1st for a BSN program at a private college here in Vermont. They told me it would be about two weeks before I hear anything...uh, hello, today is the two week mark! Where's my letter!? LOL:eek:. I'm feeling pretty confident...I had two awesome letters of recommendation, one of which was from an employee of the university (financial aid and teaching), my gpa is 3.3, and I feel that my essay was really good so...fingers crossed!

PS- congrats to those who've been accepted and good luck to the rest of us waiting to hear!

Hello everyone :) I am a 2011 hopeful in Oklahoma. I will be submitting my application sometime after the end of the fall semester. I will graduate in December with my assoc in allied health from Carl Albert State College.

Im am so ready to get on the road towards my RN :)

Today I received a phone call from the hospital based program (ADN) that I applied for and was informed that I have been taken off the stand by list and have been ACCEPTED!!! However, I am starting to feel sick! I heard that this program is very hard to get into because they use the ranking system and the only thing that they could rank me on is my grades. I think it will be nice doing the program at a hospital because of the on site clinicals!!

i was accepted back in August but classes dont dont start till March 2011. Ugh im sick of waiting.

Saturday Im getting my CPR card done and after that I got nothing to do but wait....

also, i just wanted to encourage others with lower gpa's that everything will work out! when i first joined allnurses, i was seeing how so many people had 3.8-4.0 and i was no where near that. i won't call myself dumb, however, i do the best that i can and i do study a lot. for the hours that i put into studying, i should be getting all a's, but i am a b student and i have accepted that. currently my gpa is at a 3.2! should be higher at the end of this semester though, but it won't matter because i am in!! :yeah:as soon as i graduate in dec. 2012, i am going to come back to the school that i am currently at and work on my bachelors, so i need to finish this semester out strong!

I'm a Spring 2011 hopefully for a BSN program here in Texas. I interviewed last week and I could be finding out the decision any day now. I've been pretty calm throughout this whole process up until my interview. The waiting is tough!

Which BSN program in Texas are you waiting to hear from? Any word yet? I'm interviewing for Texas Tech's BSN program next week...like you, I feel like I've been pretty calm throughout the whole process, but I'm pretty sure the anxiety is going to build as the interview gets closer.

I am also waiting patiently! I petitioned to enter the Spring 2011 ADN program at the College of Southern Maryland. According to the acknowledgment email I received, notices will be mailed by the end of October. I feel like I am stalking the mail carrier every day! Any other CSM students waiting to hear about their petition status?
