Spring 09 Hopefuls

Published

I wanted to start a support thread for all of us that will be applying for the Spring 09 start. My hope is that we keep this thread alive through the process and keep each other encouraged! Nursing School is hard enough to get into!

Where are you applying?

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

When is your schools deadline?

When does the acceptance letters go out?

What is your plan A, B, C...?

Where are you applying? I applied to Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for the accelerated BSN program in Nursing.

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? My GPA is a 3.5 for science and a 3.7 regular gpa

When is your schools deadline? There is rolling admissions until October of 08

When does the acceptance letters go out? Acceptance letters go out on a rolling basis. I just got a letter saying that my application is complete and I should hear in a few weeks.

What is your plan A, B, C...? If I don't get in, I think I might go and get my CNA and start working. Then I'll probably apply to other schools in the fall.

I am so nervous...I just want to find out.

My bff went there for Pharmacy. Very good school!! :saint:

I had talked myself out of applying this spring since I still need to take micro, english 2 and re-take AP2 - but yesterday all that went out the window. I desided to just jump right in and apply. I highly doubt I'll get accepted - but at least I'lll knwo what to expect when I re-apply next time.

I will be applying at TCC in Fort Worth

My GPA is 3.18

I believe their deadline is the end of Septemeber

Plan B? Hmmm... well, if once I've finished all my pre-reqs and I havent been accepted, I plan to take a CNA class and do that while I keep on re-applying to NS. Nursing is my ultimate goal and I know I will get there eventually. :)

Great attitude!! I'm sure you'll get there and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!:yeah:

I am applying to TWU Dallas Spring 09

current GPA is 3.89

I take the NET on the 16th of August and that will determine my chances of being excepted.

There are a few required courses at TWU, I transfered from another state, that I have to take this fall.

Is there anyone else that is going for thier Bachelors at TWU?

Specializes in SNU/SNF/MedSurg, SPCU Ortho/Neuro/Spine.

jan 5th babe!!!! hahaaaa!!!

can't wait to start my core classes!

right now i am on my bio class, but is too boring, since we just had midterms so there is no other class left on the building but my 70 years old teacher decide to give lecture on viruses, so then... i am on allnurses!!! lol

I thought i was core complete until I moved to TX. TWU has its own view on what they want. So this fall i will be taking US GOVT and TX GOVT, Women Studies, Quantitative Literacy, and Pathopysiology.

I don't get the math class, since I have an Associates and completed Statistics but I am going to try to CLEP out.

Has anyone taken the Quantitative Literacy course yet, or CLEPed out?

I take my NET next Sat, and Apply for upper Division in Sept.

I am not going to apply anywhere else, BUT I was just encouraged to apply for their online nursing program which is 4 consecutive semesters. Ne lectures, just self study and clinicals! I would graduate 9 months early. That is HUGE. My husband, 1 year old son and I are living with my mom in her 1 bdrm condo :(

I am so excited, I will be starting school next May if I get in---which I will!

Good luck :)

One of the programs I'm applying to is similar - they have some in-person practice labs and, of course, clinicals, but the rest is all online.

I'm not entirely sure I like the idea, based on my previous experiences with online classes. I don't feel like I get as much out of them, and I may have a hard time convincing my family that I really do need to work on schoolwork on the computer for hours a day. But I'd rather get in and get started than not.

Specializes in Med/surg, Quality & Risk.

Where are you applying? ASN program at Marshall University in Huntington WV

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.6 GPA

When is your schools deadline? August 1 for spring admission - this is the first year they've had a class starting in the spring

When does the acceptance letters go out? I don't know, I wish I did.

What is your plan A, B, C...? If I don't get accepted I'll probably apply one more time and if I didn't get accepted that time I will stick with practicing law which is what I do now. I am wanting to be an RN for awhile and then put the two together to get a job in risk management for a hospital.

I decided to break the bank and applied to Saint Vincent for ASN and BSN at Molloy, NYU, LIU-Brooklyn and Adelphi and LPN at Farmingdale for Spring 09. I will also be applying to Nassau CC.

GPA is 3.68 for my pre-reqs :(. I only have A&P2 and Microbio left and Im taking it this coming Fall.

Deadline varies. St Vincents is on Sept 30 and Im due to take their Entrance test on Sept 12.

As well as their response.

That's already plan A, B and C. Im hoping for at least one acceptance in it. If all else fails I will be reapplying Fall 09 to all those schools plus Beth Israel, LICSHON, NYC Tech and NYIT.

Never say die! :banghead:

A strictly nursing school here in IL as well as Direct-entry MSN program.

My cum GPA is 3.2, science GPA 3.7.

DE is 8/1, traditional BSN 8/15

Not sure when letters go out.

I am applying to other traditional BSN programs, an ABSN program and two other DE MSN programs but those applications will not be available until later and are not for spring :)

In the end I opted out of the traditional BSN program and only applied to the DE-MSN program and got accepted!! So I will start in January :) :yeah:

Specializes in Urgent Care, Family Medicine & OB/GYN.
