  1. Good luck!
  2. Thanks dariah & BuckRN. It wouldn't be a problem getting a job if I would be working at the hospital that my MD's deliver at but I'm moving 100 miles away. :-/ None of them have connections out there but I definitely use them as a reference. Thanks for the suggestions. I figured I would get those certifications done while I'm not working.
  3. So I recently bought a new home near Houston which has always been mine & my husband's ultimate goal. In our current city I had to take a clinic position due to us having children and no family there. I needed something flexible because my husband's job requires him to travel and the clinic setting was family friendly. I accepted the clinic position as a new grad so I only have clinic experience. Now that we are moving to Houston I have a better support system as far as nearby family and I can't seem to make the transition from my clinic OB/Gyn position to the hospital to begin my dream job as a L&D nurse. I wouldn't even mind working post partum. Does anyone have any suggestions? Most of the major hospitals have turned me away stating that I will need to apply with the new grads for an internship. While I understand that logic I feel as though I can learn from being taught on the floor. I have the basic knowledge I just need to learn the skills. I've heard of many people doing this including a classmate that transitioned from psych to L&D. I now regret turning down the L&D position I interviewed for as a new grad. I had a plan for my children at that time but the plan fell through so I took the clinic position and turned them down. Any suggestions will help! Thanks in advance.
  4. I too am learning this the hard way after moving to a different city after graduation. :-( Networking is key it seems!
  5. I'm curious as well. I'm about to be in the same boat w/the pre-planned trip. :-/
  6. We were required to bring soap and lotion and were asked to dress in a tank top and shorts. It was funny to us because it was so ODD! It was our 1st semester but after that you can imagine that we were close as a family. It wasn't that big of a deal to us. We were shocked but it wasn't a big enough concern to address it with our nursing faculty.
  7. I am so not going to read this thread from the beginning but I did want to stop through and say CONGRATS to those of you starting and GOOD LUCK ! I recently graduated from BHC with my ADN this past May. If you have any questions or just want to vent I'm making myself available! :) Take care and hang in there.
  8. I got my Quick Results today and saw that I PASSED! I'm an RN now! A sigh of relief! :-) Congrats to all the other new RN's!
  9. Got the good pop up a few minutes ago. The thing turned off at 75 questions and I almost cried when I got to the car! We'll see on Wed if the trick works for me.
  10. LOL! Holarious! Gross but hilarious!
  11. I'm right there with you but I have to pass to graduate w/an 850. Scared to death but I have faith I will pass in time to graduate! Good luck!
  12. Nursing student in Texas! May 2010! :-) We're out here!

  14. Sorry, I haven't had them.
  15. Yeah! I swear half the class must have been there when I was.
