  1. No problem!! Im sorry I don't....I never took any classes at Richland. The teacher I pm'ed you is very well liked at Brookhaven though. Good luck with your classes!!
  2. I pm'ed you in regards to the professor I spoke of in the above post. let me know if you have any questions. Nicole
  3. Congrats to all the students who start this Fall!!! I am entering my fourth semester this fall, and wanted to let you all know - if you have questions I would be happy to try and help answer them! I can remember when we started first semester how overloaded I was! Also - I will be at success camp (towards the end) with other 3rd and 4th semester students to answer questions. Enjoy the tail end of your break because once you start it blazes by! Nicole
  4. In our program we have an entrance HESI and a HESI at the end of 2nd and third semester. Then we have an exit HESI at the end of fourth semester. The only one that we are required to pass is the exit HESI. If you fail one before that you have to do "remediation" which translates to case studies on the specific material you missed. These tests are in addition to our other class tests. They add 60.00 to every semester when we register to pay for "testing fees". HTH! Nicole
  5. I see. Even if I had the choice to go part time I would still do the full time. I am in an accelerated RN program so I can totally relate to the stressful work load but IMO better to get it done the string it along.
  6. So you have the choice to go full time or part time? In my program they set a schedule and you have to attend class, there is no option to take them spread out. Can you explain further?
  7. I MISS NS and I am on my ONLY break until graduation!! I am in an 18 month accelerated RN program and currently on a month and a half break. Classes start back on the 17th (second semester) and we go all the way through summer and graduate December 2011. Everyone keeps saying enjoy your break, and believe me I am...but I miss interacting with patients. First semester was really crazy for me time wise, many nights where I only slept a few hours because I was up working on care plans, pathos, etc. Plus I have two kids and a husband that were neglected many nights. How can I miss that? Am I weird? LOL I guess it is a good thing we go through summer because I would hate to have the whole summer off! Second semester will be Psyhc and Med-surg, so it should be an interesting one. Just ready to get back in the grove.
  8. Holly- I talked to ann a few weeks ago and she said we could get our books from majors book store. I went and got mine so I can email you the book list if you would like. Most have got their books already but you can wait if you want. Lete know if you would like the book list. Some have bought their books separately to save money. If you buy them from majors throne you pay extra for the ebooks.

Hi there! I will be a first semester student next month and my school informed us that we would be in lab for the first 6 weeks to get the basics down before we go out to the patients in the hospitals.
  10. Hi Sarah! I guess it depends on how comfortable you are. I personally took A&P 1 by itself, and glad that I did because I felt like I really had the opportunity to absorb it all...ya know? Also the points required to get in at Brookhaven Nursing have risen a lot in the past few semesters, so it is really competitive and making A's would definitely be better for your chances. Then A&P 2 I took with another class, and it was definitely more challenging. Also Chemistry was really the hardest subject for me out of ALL of the Pre-reqs and support courses!!! I hated it in high school and I felt the same way in college. HTH!! Nicole
  11. Ames - I went to the Allen outlet since it is close to my house, there is a store there called uniform destination. I compared the prices after I bought them (I know real smart of me) and they really were not discounted. The people who work there are also REALLY unfriendly. I have not had them embriored yet becasue A** has to send us the instruction e-mail, which she said last week she had typed up. I assume(hope) she will send it out this week???? Natalie - I applied with a 3.79 GPA 38.96 points and all support classes done. Good luck on the beginning of your adventure!!
  12. Samarav, Can you send your request for FB again.... I don't see it. 2nd week of July will work for me as well, has everyone here joined the FB group? If so I will get a time and date together and send out a invite through FB. I actually went scrub shopping today!!! I bought two pairs of hunter green scrubs (for clinicals) and a couple pairs for just wearing to school. The Grey's Anatomy scrubs ROCK!!!!!! I want to live in them!!! Unfortunately they don't have them in hunter green so I bought them as my extra scrubs. BTW just in case anyone was wondering, A** told me the other day that we are going to get an e-mail soon about scrubs, etc, but that we do not have to buy the scrubs through them we just have get hunter green scrubs and use their embroidery place. So I went ahead and got some. It was so much fun!!!! I can't wait to live in them!! HAHA
  13. Oh it does not have to be the first week! I guess maybe the second week would be better since 4th of July falls in the first week.
  14. Hi Debbie!!! Join the FB group, I sent you an invite since you were already my friend.
  15. Oh also, if you are on FB, I created this group: Incompatible Browser | Facebook Check it out
