Spring 09 Hopefuls

I wanted to start a support thread for all of us that will be applying for the Spring 09 start. My hope is that we keep this thread alive through the process and keep each other encouraged! Nursing School is hard enough to get into!
Where are you applying?
What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?
When is your schools deadline?
When does the acceptance letters go out?
What is your plan A, B, C...?

Small :nurse: school in southwest no 2nd choice

Current GPA is 3.23:down:

School deadline is 1 or 15 Feb

April 2009

Plan B will be decided if my DH gets transfered to a BIGGER city, if I don't get in and he gets transfered I will apply in that city.

Where are you applying? NVCC

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.9

When is your schools deadline? June 25

When does the acceptance letters go out? June 11?

What is your plan A, B, C...?

Plan A= apply as early as possible and wait for my acceptance letter

Plan B= if I don't get in, which I doubt, I will have to get a job and wait it out!

I am dying to apply and start the program but I have an entire year to go

- - I'm applying to the Lone Star College System.

- - GPA for pre-reqs for that school is 3.26. School has a point system but I don't know my points yet; they have not been uploaded.

- - The deadline is September 15th.

- - Acceptance letters go out early November.

- - I don't know yet what my plan B is. This will be my first go round, so I'm praying that I get in. Reality is that I may not, and that has me :banghead: . I did okay on the pre-entrance exam so I can only hope and be positive! :yeah:

Are you going to apply anywhere else? That is an awesome GPA:bow: I'm thinking of taking classes over this fall for History and Government because I got C's in those.

A strictly nursing school here in IL as well as Direct-entry MSN program.

My cum GPA is 3.2, science GPA 3.7.

DE is 8/1, traditional BSN 8/15

Not sure when letters go out.

I am applying to other traditional BSN programs, an ABSN program and two other DE MSN programs but those applications will not be available until later and are not for spring :)

I'm confused......the deadline is after the acceptance letters go out? :confused:

Where are you applying? Harford Community College, Maryland

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.8 with 24 out of 25 points. The only way to get that last point is to retake a class, which I am NOT going to do. A 3.8gpa with 24 points is almost guaranteed a spot.

When is your schools deadline? October something

When does the acceptance letters go out? no clue

What is your plan A, B, C...? Plan B is to apply to the accelerated summer program

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.55/21 points out of 21 possible

When is your schools deadline? Sept 15

When does the acceptance letters go out? Around Halloween

What is your plan A, B, C...? No other plans- this school has an evening program and I have 3 kids during the day and work part-time in the evenings when my husband gets home, so a traditional daytime program won't work for me. I will keep applying until I get into this program. If I don't get in this Spring, I will retake classes to boost the gpa and try again next year.

Applying to College of Lake County (CLC)

The school I'm applying to doesn't look at GPA, but I graduated with a BS in biology from UIUC with a 3.1. CLC looks at the entrance exam as the sole determination for entrance; I got 99 percentile :)

Deadline for application is September 3rd

Letters go out sometime mid-late October

There is no other plan. This is the only place around my area that offers a nursing degree and has an evening program

Nevada State.

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

Right now it's 3.21. I wish the deadline for applying was a few weeks later, because when these 3 summer classes I'm taking are done, my GPA should go up close to a 3.4. Our nursing program doesn't seem as competitive as most others do... I don't know why..?

My prereq for anatomy was KILLER and that basically ruined my GPA... so if I don't get in I guess I'm going to have to retake it just for a few more points. I might retake a few classes I have B's in as well if that happens... but I'm hoping I just get in, I'm really motivated right now and I don't want to lose my momentum! :)
