Spring 09 Hopefuls

I wanted to start a support thread for all of us that will be applying for the Spring 09 start. My hope is that we keep this thread alive through the process and keep each other encouraged! Nursing School is hard enough to get into!

Where are you applying?

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

When is your schools deadline?

When does the acceptance letters go out?

What is your plan A, B, C...?

I *was* doing a pretty good job of keeping anxiety/eagerness in check.

Now we've reached the point where they may be sending out letters for my first choice program. Sometime within the next 3ish weeks.

I checked the mailbox 8 times today.

Ok - had my interview today with WSU - I think that it went well. They asked me some interesting questions.

What was something that you were recently criticized for and how did you handle it?

What is your opinion on public access to health care?

Is health care a right or a privilege?

What characteristics do you have that would make you a good nurse?

How would you decide what "doing the right thing" for someone else in terms of a health care would be?

What event or events in your life too place to make you want to be a nurse?

Anyway I was so nervous that my mouth went completely dry...LOL But I think it went well (I think everyone thinks that...LOL) Acceptance letters go out the 15th of November...so I will keep you all posted!

Wow those are quite the questions. Some hot topics in the media as well. I wish I had gotten those type of questions I think they require a greater amount of critical thinking. My interview was mainly job interview stylish. Strengths vs weakness, what if someone handed you test questions what would you do? Why did you chose this program?

Me TOO!!! I know that I have a month to wait, but I can't help but check my email every couple of minutes. Because you know... they're probably thinking, hey, this guy's waited long enough. We'll just let him know a month early. Right?!
