I wanted to start a support thread for all of us that will be applying for the Spring 09 start. My hope is that we keep this thread alive through the process and keep each other encouraged! Nursing School is hard enough to get into!
Where are you applying?
What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?
When is your schools deadline?
When does the acceptance letters go out?
What is your plan A, B, C...?
I am taking Psych 110 in the winter, taking the TEAS and applying in March for Nursing at VVC. Long wait (2 yrs) if not chosen. It is random name chosing by computer=(
My GPA is not great but passing=)
Plan B? if it doesnt work I can always go back to the dental field=)
But I hope I get to be a nurse.
I am a Spring '09 hopeful...I didn't want to make an introduction until I had attended my ADN advising session (last week). I take the HESI in two weeks, and will apply right after that. My GPA at this school is a 4.0. We go on a point system, no waiting list, VERY competetive. Plan B is to take some pre-reqs that I would need for a BSN, but I am hopeful I will get in. If nursing school doesn't work out at all, I'm not sure what I will do...maybe mortuary science.
Anyway, good luck to all of you who are also trying to get in :)
My interview for WSU's BSN program is Saturday - I am feeling ok about it...not too nervous (yet...LOL). The acceptance letters go out the 15th of Nov...seems like forever until then...just hope I survive the interview. Feel like my entire future hinges on 15 minutes....
Wish me luck...=)
Congratulations to everyone that has received letters of acceptance...makes me feel all giddy and happy inside...LOL
Can you all please say a special prayer for me. I was so nervous when I submitted my ABSN application about a month ago that I forgot to submit all of my transcripts so I had to go back and resubmit those and the secretary in the Nursing Dept acted like she didn't want to take my transcript stating the fact that all of my documentation was supposed to have been submitted at the same time...this was before the deadline. So I'm just nervous that they may hold that against me. Other than that, my GPA and pre req's GPA are all above the minimum requirements. I have experience in the health care field so I'm hoping I'll have a pretty good shot of being accepted. If not, the traditional program graduates 3 months after the ABSN so I have a back up. The anticipation is killing me though. They say we should hear something in November...before Thanksgiving...this is taking too long for me....whooo patience is a virtue I'm finding I don't have a lot of.....to be cont....
Good luck to those who are awaiting an acceptance letter

Hello to All
I have applied to Texas Womans University for the BSN Program. We should
be getting letters in the next two weeks.
I am so nervous and just like all of you nervously and patiently trying to wait because there is no other way
This is my second application to a Nursing Program. I applied to UTA for the Fall 08 and was chosen for the waiting list, but no spot became available.
This past summer I took four classes that I had B's in previously to up my GPA for TWU and was able to up changed B's to A's:wink2:
Please keep in touch and let me know how the rest of you are holding up and your outcomes and I will do the same.
There is light at the end of this tunnel; for sure...put your faith in GOD.
