So we all know the nursing profession pays big, so what do you guys plan to spend on your first pay check?
With my first check, we (my husband and 3 girls) will celebrate!!
Then I will pay off my loans, my husband will finish his degree, a new vehicle for him and then we will be building a new house for my family.
When my six year old wonders why I am going back to school I tell her so we can build a new house! The one we live in now needs bull-dozed!!
It helps to think of these things to help you through school!!!
I forgot one thing....DH and I never had a real wedding (we went to city hall). We plan on having a big anniversary party after I graduate. And it would be nice to have a vacation alone (without kids)....especially since we never had a honeymoon either.
That sounds WONDERFUL!! I think I need to add that to my plans!
We never had a honeymoon either.
My BF and I have a 175 yo house that is in "good" but not "great" condition. It is quite livable, though, so we haven't been doing a lot of big stuff to it. It will be nice once I am out of school to be able to fix it up more (I will actually have time AND some extra income!).
Also, I think we may take a real vacation...since I've started school it's been quick 2-3 day trips only and often he will go alone (skiing or something like that since my time is limited). :)
edit: i spell gud
I know that my hubby busts his tail end off for us. He drives 'cash & go' cars, while I drive the nice big, hefty payment truck. :)I have hardly worked at all in the last 12 years. I have an interview for a non-hospital job on Wednesday. I'm going to try to get some income coming in b/4 nursing school while hubby tries to get his business up and running.
That first paycheck from a hospital is going to be scanned & a copy saved forever. I just hope it's not for one day...that would be funny. ....In that case, maybe I'd scan and save the second one.
:lol2:
Don't say that you hardly worked the last 12 years. You have taken care of a family, that's alot of work!!!!! Raising kids takes time and effort. And don't forget, you did your prerequisits which can be a challenge to accomplish with a family to take care of. Anybody can be a parent but being a GOOD parent takes work.
That is so true! Currently, I'm cheer mom to my high school daughter, and tumbling mom to both daughters. In the past it was gymnastics mom, tap mom, ballet mom, dance competition mom, and T-Ball mom (which included team mom 1 season, and dugout coach another season)....which was trying, to say the least, when these things overlapped!!
