"I don't want to clean up dirt!"
I have a friend who's schooling to be a Physical Therapist. I randomly told him that maybe he should go for nursing since most of his classes pertain to the program. To my surprise, he replied, "Sorry but I don't want to clean up dirt." Which means that he thinks nursing's just all about cleaning the feces. As somebody who's doing his prerequisites for nursing, I was tremendously offended by how ignorant his comments were. He even continued, "Well I don't want to seem biased, and I know it's not what you want to hear, but it is the truth." It's clear to me now that not alot of people think of this job as being reputable. How would y'all reply to this offensive comment? I just wanted to smack his face because he obviously tried to degrade the nursing profession. He made it sound like cleaning after poop is the primary duty of a nurse.

Good Nursing School in the Philippines
I highly recommend University of Cebu Doctors and Velez College (both in Cebu).

Community College vs Private College
I myself have always wondered about this. It's too hard to get into the nursing program here at our community college. The likes of Bryman College & University of Phoenix (both in California), does anyone know how they're considered in standard compared to ADNs from generic community colleges?

Dilemma
I know. My mom went postal with me but I can't blame her. She's only looking out for me. I think our insurance is Blue Shield. I don't know what you mean by full time for 2/3 or 3/4. Our Chem class started August 15 and ends December 15. If I drop now, where would I be in that scale? Same thing. Although at the start of the semester, I had 17 units under me and it shrank to 14 and now 10 (by the time Idrop chem). I don't have a chronic condition (I hope not:uhoh21: ) but my mom just kmade me worry about it. That's why I need to know where to get medical insurance for myself (I'm from California) without being a dependent. I hate being tied down by conditions. I was a fool to take 2 Science classes at the same semester along with others. And then I get pressure from my folks which is bad enough. They don't understand how hard it is. I just feel like quitting altogether. They'e pressuring me so I can finish FASTER. Why can't they just let me do it on my own learning pace? I don't want to be tied down to this insurance rule. Is there anyway that someone like me could qualify for my own medical insurance?

Dilemma
Yes I'm dependent on my mom's insurance. I could however not just drop Chem but stop attending class and end up with an F right? Would that be better (so I can keep my medical)? Or should I just drop it so as to not let it stain my average?

Dilemma
Wish I could but our tutoring center is fully booked almost all the time. Appointments are scarce. I wish I didn't stall. Maybe I would've had a fighting chance. I'm behind 10 chapters including its chapters' respective, numerous exercises.

Dilemma
They won't let me retake it if I get a C. I don't want a C in Chem because I'm thinking of opening an option for pre-med. I've got a lab for Chem and Anatomy so it really sucks alot of time. Then I have a progressively difficult math class to match. I'm a mess. I thought I could handle it. Our A&P is getting crazy. We're barely finsihed with our Histology chapter test last week, now we're having our practicals in histology this Wednesday and then next week, another test on bones. Oh my god! It's like, what have I got myself into. It feels like finals has already come. As for chemistry, I felt like throwing up on the tests. We're getting close to Organic chem. I dont think I can.

Dilemma
Well, it's sad but it has come to the point where I just can't do chemistry anymore. It's not that I'm dumb. I merely stalled for a few weeks on the homework thinking it was nothing and I could simply catch. Boy was I wrong. It cost me a great deal (2 failed tests). Lesson learned. Not doing that ever again. We're in the middle of the semester now but I'm feeling overwhelmed. I've managed to maintain a good standing in A&P and Math but Chemistry, I just simply can't catch up. I guess I have to let it go. The problem is I'm a dependent with the insurance thing (which requires a full time student). My mom was pissed when I told her I wanted to drop my chem because I wouldn't be a full time student (which would mean I won't be included in the medical insurance). What should I do? Would they cut me off from my insurance when I quit one of subjects in the middle of the sem?

Have you ever wanted to Quit?
I can so relate to this. You're not out of hope just yet so don't give up! My academic standing is worse than yours right now. I've got 2 F's in my chem test. A D in my 1st math exam (had a high B on my 2nd). Struggling in A&P (upcoming histology practical:uhoh3: ). To top it, my chem professor sent me a warning because of my F status, yet I still have hope. How much more for you. You'll be ok.

Has anybody tried Nordic Naturals Omega-3 gel caps? My Nutrition teacher takes them and she's all aglow and healthy. I bought them and the bottle recommends two a day after meals. These things are safe right? Nordic Naturals seem to be a reputable brand. Any ideas?- Oh Help-discouraged!!
the bolded sentences i can relate all too well but in my case, it's the chemistry class. i know how you feel about being the slowest worker in the, feeling incompetent, and feeling like a foreigner. you're proabaly in a better position than i am as i'm behind 5 chapters. still, i feel that i can still pull off a miracle. you can do it. - How many prereq courses are you taking?
