  1. Im planning to apply to CRNM. If you're an U.S. ADN Graduate with a current registration in Manitoba, I was hoping if you can share the ff information: Did you have to go through a Clinical Competence Assessment? Did you have to take supplemental education (bridging course)? Did you have any work experience prior to your application for licensure at Manitoba? I would appreciate a reply. Thanks!
  2. Yes, I am referring to the Social Security Number.
  3. Hi! I've been trying to look for threads which can direct me to the answer and so far the only information I have gathered are: - There are some states that do not require SSN, but they did not specify which ones - California requires SSN I hope some of you could be kind enough to share their knowledge with me or direct me to the thead if there is already one existing. I am aware that BON requirements contiuously change, but at this time, which states do not require a SSN? I need to get this information as I am going to apply to a ADN to BSN program and their major requirement is a Valid US RN License. I have no SSN so I have to apply for licensure in a state which does not require a SSN to issue a license. Thanks!

  5. Hi LiverpoolJane, thanks for responding. I am not looking into getting into the US quicker with a BSN degree since I know that getting a US work visa right now seems close to impossible. I am asking about the BSN because I am already considering the possibility of working in other countries like Canada or Australia which both require BSN. This the main reason why Im thinking of upgrdading my ADN to BSN. However, I am still not totally dismissing the option of being able to work and get a US immigrant visa in the US someday when the retrogression is lifted. As such, I just want to ensure that the Online program I plan to take will be regcognized by the US immigration. I would also love to get a some experience, but given the retrogression, I am not exactly sure if that is possible. Right now, I am just trying to explore realistic options that will eventually help my career as a nurse in the future and one of them is upgrading my ADN to BSN. Hope this clarifies.
  6. I have an ADN from a US school. Actually, I want to pursue RN to BSN mainly because of the retrogression. I know getting a US work visa right now seems close to impossible and I am already considering the possibility of working in other countries like Canada or Australia. The problem with those countries is that they require a BSN. So Im thinking of upgrdading my ADN to BSN. It would be more convenient for me if I took the program while I am physically outside the US since I can be with my family and it there would be less expenses associated with housing, etc... I am still not totally dismissing the option of being able to work and get a US immigrant visa in the US someday when the retrogression is lifted. As such, I just want to ensure that the Online program I plan to take will be regcognized by the US immigration. I've already posted another thread asking if these online programs are accetable in Canada since it is one of my target destinations. Hope this clarifies ... I am hoping you can enlighten me.
  7. Thank you very much for that information. I hope you can share with me which states would NOT require a SSN ?
  8. Hi! What I meant was ... would US immigration consider it a valid degree? Considering that I wont be physically studing in the US while I complete the BSN program. I was just wondering that it might not be up to par with immigration standards ....
  9. Thanks for your response Suzanne. According to both Jacksonville University and Chamberlain College, they do not require physical presence in the US. I asked about any on-site requirements, and they also confirmed that we would not be asked to visit the school at all. Do I understand you correctly, so immigration does not accept online ADN programs, but it will accept RN to BSN online programs?
  10. So assuming I apply to a state BON that does not require a SSN (like Arizona), would it mean that I will automatically be issued a license after passing the NCLEX?
  11. I am a Filipino citizen with a ADN from a US school. At present, I am outside the US. I am planning to enroll in a Online RN to BSN program in a US school (probably Jacksonville University, Chamberlain or University of Phoenix) as soon as I pass the NCLEX and get a US RN License. Im planning to take the course while I am outside the US (probably from the Philippines or Canada). The question is ... Are Online RN to BSN programs accepted for US immigration?
  12. would this be the only reason for the non-issuance of a licence after passing the NCLEX? So assuming I apply to a state BON that does not require a SSN, would it mean that I will automatically be issued a license after passing the NCLEX?
  13. I don't have a working visa and I have not applied to any state BON yet. I just want to find out if I will be able to get a RN license as soon as I pass the NCLEX because I have plans of pursuing a RN to BSN program. One of the requirements to get into this program is a Active RN License.
  14. Which states would require a SSN ?
  15. Assuming that all required documents and test results (TOEFL, etc) are submitted to the state BON, will a successful NCLEX exam automatically result in the issuance of a US RN license by the state BON which approved our application to take the NCLEX?
